yes! My mom makes her own at home and she gives it to us - it's SO good and SO SO good for you. We flavor it tons of different ways to make it even yummier
And yes, I did drink it while pregnant. But not in huge amounts.

@anonysquire: I tried it at a yoga party and it totally didn't look like that. I found it gross but its sooo popular here.

ME, ME, MEEEEE! Lol, I may be just a little overenthusiastic about my love for the 'booch. I brew my own in a continuous brew system and I keep meaning to experiment with secondary brewing and different flavors, but it's so good straight (although, this is DEFINITELY an acquired taste, most people think it tastes like vinegar- it tastes pretty close to GT's raw, original flavor), that we end up drinking it all straight off the tap.
ETA: And yes, I totally drink it while pregnant.
ETA2: I consider my SCOBYs (the "mother" on top) to be my pets. -
@chopsuey: I love kombucha and drank it 1x/week while pregnant and breastfeeding. I'd love to have it more often but it's expensive and I'm not brave enough to try to make my own! I try to add a teaspoon of raw apple cider vinegar to my morning water bottle to get some of the same health benefits though.
@anonysquire: Yuck, that photo was a bit of a kombucha turn off! I am going to pretend I never saw it lol!

I went through a phase where I had it a bunch because I walked past WF daily. Now I will drink a bottle every once in awhile when I am in the mood.

@chopsuey: yeah, it is a fermented drink, that's why it tastes so. But it is safe
@anonysquire: yup, you need that "mother scoby" to ferment the tea.
@FarmWifeGina: my momma makes it too! so good.
@QueensBee: I told my mom that she will have to keep making it for me because the scoby is so gross looking I'll never be able to drink it if I constantly see how it's made hahaha.

I have a mother in my fridge.
I think I'd lay off of it (even the store-bought stuff) while pregnant.

@FarmWifeGina: my mom has a ginger one that is similar to a ginger ale and I like that one. But my favorite is blueberry! She adds the blueberry juice from trader joes that is fully fruit and nothing added.
Apple is great too- we used freshly home juiced apple juice too!

I had no idea what this was! My husband bought a bottle once and I thought it was spoiled.
