Our daughter is 10.5 months, exclusively on table foods, and will have absolutely nothing to do with a bib. Unlike some of her baby friends, she wasn't a heavy drooler as a young infant, so she hasn't grown up wearing a bib, as a daily accessory.

When we first started solids, she was mostly eating purees, and tolerated a bib, to an extent. However, as she's gotten older, she desperately yanks at it, and cries until it's removed. She's such an enthusiastic, happy eater, and I'd hate to turn mealtime into an aversive activity, so I usually allow her to eat, without. I've started shaping it a little, having her wear one for a short period of time while eating super reinforcing food, but ehh...

We've tried several kinds of bibs - the heavy ones with the scoop at the bottom, muslin, terrycloth, cotton; she'll have none of them. She's fine wearing clothing with tags, hair accessories, you name it. It's just bibs.

Anyone else have this issue? Did you keep trying, or just accept the extra mess?
