I'm thinking about going back to work at least part-time after we move in December. However, it may be a while before I find something. I'm getting a little worried already about dealing with being stuck indoors during the cold NE winter weather. Right now we're still able to get outdoors several times and I'm going to miss that so much. Anyone else feeling the same way?

Make sure you look for fun activities at museums, libraries, indoor play grounds and stuff like that! Sign up for Groupon or something and they will send you a ton of deals for stuff like that indoors

I am at home on mat leave until May, so I have booked myself into classes and plan lots of play dates to keep myself busy. We also still need to walk the dog, so it gets all of us out at least once a day or so.

I live in Florida..... so no. Even in our cold cold I'll be able to get out for walks or go take a drive to the mall, Target, etc.

We still go out pretty much daily in the winter; we just go out right before lunch or just after afternoon nap, when it's warmest. I also take the kids to the local baby gym for free play on days we can't go outside, to get some of their energy out.
I'm excited for this winter because I feel like we can do more structured/planned activities. In the summer, DD just wants to play outside all day, so it's harder to fit in some of the cool crafting/play activities I've been saving up!

I'm due with baby2 on dec 23. Pretty sure I won't be going out much, but it doesn't bother me. I'm a homebody.
Gonna make sure dh takes Lo out a couple times a week though. -
I love to be at home so It doesn't bother me to be trapped indoors. I do lots of crafts so that should help keep me busy!

I just feel like LO will be at an age (7 months on Dec. 26th) where she will no longer be content to be on the play mat or in the Jumperoo all the time, but she's not mobile enough to do a ton. No idea how we will fill the time, but I guess I had better start researching stuff to do in our new city.

I will be on maternity leave and yeah, it's not such a great time
if it is a super cold winter. So I hope we have a mild winter again. But I'll probably stay home with DD #2 a lot while DH takes our older DD out. -
I had a newborn during the winter months last year and I seriously thank God that Toronto had a record-breaking mild winter. It was totally manageable to get out of the house (to a mall or somewhere), maybe too cold for a walk, but still was very decent.

I'm currently unemployed so I hear you. AND I don't drive. Last winter was a record breaking mild in the NE but if we get one of our regular winters where most days are below freezing. I might just go crazy...
Even though I'm planning to follow my rule of going out if it's above 25F accounting for windchill. We'll just bundle up! -
pretty sure even with our mild winters in san diego, that with LO due in january, i'm going to be stir crazy come february... let's be honest, late january. going to stock up on tv show marathons.
