@oskarsmommy: The US Grant is great! What about a Padres game or a visit to Coronado island? The baseball stadium is fun. Sorry, I don't know kids things because I don't have a child quite yet!

The San Diego zoo is super awesome!

@oskarsmommy: Welcome! San Diego is an awesome place for families to visit! The San Diego Zoo and/or Safari Park are a must-see. The Safari Park (basically another zoo with a huge open space for African animals to live together that you can see on a 'safari) is up in North County (north of the city), but a lot of fun, too. La Jolla Cove/Seal Beach (http://lajollamom.com/la-jolla-seals/) is so much fun to visit, too. For beaches, we like going to either Coronado Island or Torrey Pines. Admittedly, we aren't huge beach people, so others can weigh in on further spots they might like better. Feel free to Wall me if you have other questions or want food recs! Have a blast!

@oskarsmommy: Since the Grant is quite a bit of a drive from Legoland, my suggestion is to take a break from all that driving and head down to Seaport Village or Old Town to catch the city's "hop-on-hop off" sightseeing tour. It stops at Coronado (Hotel Del), Balboa Park, Old Town, The Zoo, and Seaport Village. If you park your car at Seaport, you have a few hours of fee parking with validation. Parking at Old Town is free, but hard to find unless you leave early in the morning. I highly recommend the Old Town Trolley Tour. http://www.trolleytours.com/san-diego

Seaport Village: scenic walk alongside the beach with enough of toddler interest and a bunch of sweet little specialty shops. The hand carved carousel would be a nice photo op.

Old Town: A historic little area. Toddler friendly, lots of small shops for sightseeing. If you like Mexican food, eat at Cafe Cayote.

Balboa Park: Gorgeous. Large open spaces for LO to toddle about. Numerous museums. I recommend the Japanese Friendship Gardens beside the Organ Pavilion. The Prado is also a nice place restaurant if you're not already stuffed after Old Town. You can easily spend the day just wandering about.

Coronado Beach: Pristine sand, endless walk to the water. I recommend getting an ice cream at Moo Time Creamery (located inside the Del) while enjoying the view at the hotel's sundeck. There's also a bunch of outdoor pubs and restaurants within walking distance.
