The cell phone/computer thread got me thinking to back in the day when I communicated to my friends via pager code. I guess that was the early form of texting. I really have to laugh at the memory.

And a couple of my friends' parents also had fax machines at home so we would fax letters to each other. Early email! Ah, good times.

Any other things you used to think were high tech?
