Yes I watch it too! I wasn't that surprised by Jeff, since I saw he took another roll on a different show, however I hope this means goodbye Layla...she drives me nuts!

@MrsB2012: Totally agree. Some of those scenes with Juliet have been really hard for me to watch, knowing the actress is also suffering from PPD. And I find it very frustrating that on the show, no one is really mentioning that she has PPD and that she's still struggling with it. They're just like "Juliet's a nut job!" It makes me angry and I really hope they have Juliet get the help she needs.

@Adira: I agree! The consensus seems to be that she just has issues but helloooo, get that girl some help! And yes so hard to watch, I wonder if Hayden had a hard time playing those scenes with her own PPD to deal with.
@LuLu Mom: I had been wondering where they were going with his character. Trying to have him redeem himself but I was always waiting for him to do something nasty. I wasn't expecting that ending though!

I was starting to like Jeff! >.< I have a love/hate relationship with the show. I feel like I hate 95% of the story lines (Will, Layla, the dad in prison, Scarlett's mom) but the eye candy is too good to stop.

@buttermilk: Yeah, I originally thought they were going to do a good job showing PPD and they even staged that intervention to talk to Juliet about PPD, but ever since then, they haven't brought it up, except once when Rayna was like "Juliet had PPD" like it was past-tense and she didn't have it anymore and was just crazy now. So frustrating!! I'm hoping that maybe since Hayden has checked herself in to a facility to get help, maybe they will do the same with her character. I can't imagine it would be easy for Hayden to play Juliet while dealing with PPD. And even once she gets help, I imagine playing Juliet still at rock bottom would be difficult.
@Littlebit: RIGHT?? I was just starting to like Jeff and his own evil ways! I'm bummed he's dead, although not surprised, since he's on Scream Queens or something.
I just keep watching this show for the music, haha. And if Layla could just sing and never speak again, that would be good. I like her songs, but hate her storylines!

when I saw the end of the show! I like it but yeah, I agree that the Juliette/Hayden connection is hard to watch especially because they rent tackling the fact that she has PPD head on and only if you're familiar with the fact is existed would you know that's what she has.

I know this thread originated about Jeff. But...I'm surprised that people can't stand Layla! I don't love her but she doesn't bother me either.
Scarlett on the other hand. Ugh. So. Annoying. Her twangy voice and puppy dog eyes and sickeningly sweet damsel-in-distress act. BARF. She annoys me to no end. I actually forward through her scenes sometimes. -
@SweetiePie: lol, I forward through Will's scenes. I like Scarlett's singing voice but hate most of her storylines. I keep watching to see her to end up with Hunter!

@SweetiePie: I like some of Scarlett's music (like Black Roses), but totally agree that she can be pretty annoying! Both her and Layla annoy me.
@Littlebit: I WANT to fast-foward through Will's scenes. He needs to stop being so whiny all the time! I didn't blame Kevin one bit for dumping him.

I'm so addicted to this show, some of the characters annoy me but man I just gobble it right up! The music, the drama, DEACON and omg I love Connie Britton so much! And the girls! Could they please just sing everything all the time? Thx!

Its definitely my guilty pleasure! I live in Nashville so that's why I watched it to begin with. I probably couldn't deal with soap opera vibe if it wasn't a local show. I roll my eyes so hard at some of the stuff but watch loyally every week

I actually had a dream about Juliette's love life last night! Lol! I am so sad when I watch this season with all the PPD and baby not having mama around

@runnerd: Right?? As a mom, I feel so bad about Juliette's storyline! But at least Avery is a good dad. Remember when he was such a jerk to Scarlett season one?? And now he's one of my favorite characters!

I feel like Juilettes character has always been erratic, so people don't recognize the symptoms of PPD, which is also the case often in real life. People often don't realize that it's PPD that they are suffering from, or their loved ones are suffering from, and maybe that's where this story line is going.
I'm interested to see what they do with Hayden taking a leave from the show while she heals herself.I'm also sad to see Jeff leave the show, I was starting to like him and where his character was going. ( Did you know he's Kate Hudson's brother?!)

I have to imagine part of the reason they gave Juliette this story is because of what Hayden was going through. Like it might have been her idea and maybe it's helped her work things out? At least a little.

Ah so happy to see this thread! I have to catch up on the latest episode- but given how the last episode ended, I'm not surprised to hear that Jeff actually died. He drove me crazy! But he hadn't been as bad since he was with Layla. I also cannot stand Layla, and I cannot stand Will!
I love Juliette's character! Even though she was never a 'nice' person, I have always rooted for her. And I so wanted and still want her and Avery to work out. Though if I were Avery, I'd be far too hurt to give her yet another chance. He was one forgiving and patient man. Even without her PPD, she still has a lot of issues that I think Avery just couldn't handle anymore.
I'm sad that Gunnar and Scarlett haven't been able to maintain a very good friendship. I don't really get it!
I also am not liking deacon at all this season- whereas I loved him last season and before that. I wish he was still there for Juliette in the same way he was before. -

I find a lot of the characters annoying but I'm addicted to the music on the show. Also, i used to love watching the Deacon/Rayna flashbacks when they sang together. *swoon*

@Mrs. Pen: no I read this article yesterday and I guess they're still filming. also says they always planned for Juliette to have issues with mothering.

@Miss Ariel: I read the same article as @buttermilk: that they were always planning on having Juliette struggle with PPD, even before they knew that Hayden actually has it.
@Mrs. Pen: I'm with you. I don't really think Avery SHOULD forgive Juliette at all or give her a second chance, but I do still want them to work out in the end!
@Freckles: I'm really hoping that at some point this season, Will gets his act together and embraces the fact that he's a gay cowboy and just starts to do his thing and have fun! Him being mopey all the time is driving me crazy!!
