No one will give me a straight answer over the phone- trying to figure out if the insurance payout or having them fix it is a better option. $1629 to replace a .61 carat oval brilliant stone color enclarity si1.
Any tips for me!! Thanks!

What does bluenile retail something similar for?
The people on the price scope forums are extremely knowledgeable. I would check those 2 places.

I was going to say exactly the same thing, check Blue Nile for similar items.
Also check with your insurance what making a claim will do to your rates, if anything. We found out after making a claim (on home owners) that we lost our no claim discount as well as got a 25% claim surcharge and now have to pay almost $800 more a year.

From bluenile. Looks like a fair price if the cut is "good" and a low price if the cut is "very good"

@PurplePumps: that's a good point.. I've never made a claim and didn't think of that
@Mae: @sunny: thanks ladies! that seems like a reputable site and I've heard of it.. but didn't think of it on my own, naturally
