There's a lot of iron in our well water, so I'm thinking about getting an "iron curtain" to filter it out of the water:

We have a house near old iron mines and have a water softener that I fill with softener salt that is formulated for iron removal. We also have a system like this. It is a PITA because we constantly have to change the filters. I would recommend something that doesn't require much maintenance, if that exists.
