Are you giving birth at a hospital? I only ask because at the 2 hospitals close to me, video is not allowed. You might want to check just so you don't get to far with your arrangements and then possibly find out they have a similar policy to my local hospitals. Hope you're able to though!!

i really want a birth photographer, but we can't afford it. i'm just so nervous my mom is going to royally screw up all of our pictures and they're all just going to be blurs. she's terrible with a camera!

We didn't even had a wedding video, so I can't see us filming our birth. I want pictures, but I don't expect to look good enough that I would want to show them to anyone anyway. We are both self conscious in front of the camera, and there will be plenty going on already, so not for us.

@Arden: the only birth photographer i'd trust in our area is $575, and i can't fathom spending that much when we're already paying thousands for baby girl's arrival! it's a bummer though, because i don't think i've ever seen a picture my mom's taken that isn't blurry.. haha.

I want a birth photographer or videographer but I can't decide which I want more (no way we can do both). But I do want to have those moments recorded, even with sweaty hair and red face and however else I may look Especially because I've heard so many new moms say that their baby's birth was a blur.

I think I am leaning towards photographer over videographer because there are more options for photographers around here than videographers, and because I think I would probably look at the photos more than watch the video. But yes, birth videos are SO amazing. Tears every time I watch one.

My mom actually got my birth on tape. Well, technically my dad did with a big shoulder camera haha. I watched it one time and was traumatized, I saw parts of my mom I shouldn't have doing things I couldn't wrap my 14 year old head around lol

I would LOOOVEE to have a photographer there though, i'm nervous to approach DH with the idea, he'll think it's weird.
