Our 3 year old has refused to sleep in her converted crib (now a toddler bed) for 3 weeks (at least) now. She sleeps on the floor, on a blanket that we laid down for her. She seems happy enough but it's so strange, why sleep on the floor?? She slept in her toddler bed for some time before deciding the floor was better. We're not ready to buy a "big girl" bed yet. She still fits in it, if she would sleep in it...

What if you took the mattress out and let her sleep on that? Maybe she feels too contained in the toddler bed?

My daughter (2 1/2) decided she hates her big girl bed and no amount of convincing, talking, ect. will get her to stay in it. She usually falls asleep on a "bed" on the livng room floor or the couch. WE have tried for MONTHS to break this habit. She falls asleep and we carry her into her room, she will usually stay in there for the night or we will find that she snuck back out to the couch in the middle of the night. It's a battle I'm not going to fight anymore because she gets so worked up bedtime ends up going way later.

P slept on a blanket on the floor for about a month about 6 months ago. She just would cry and scream before bed and then as soon as we went to the floor she stopped. So whatever. She is now happily back in her toddler bed.

@mediagirl: m did the floor thing for a while too. She would pull her comforter and pillow off her bed after we tucked her in. We decided it wasn't worth fighting and just let her be. Eventually one night she just decided she would sleep on her bed again. Toddlers are weird!

Yeah my LO refuses to sleep in her bed...still co-sleeping at 3!

B did this for about a month. It was a weird stage.

My oldest did that for maybe 6 months or so at 2 yrs. I didn't care-- if she sleeps, go with it!

I'm crossing my fingers I don't post on here in a few weeks! We're kicking LO out of our bed and we just bought her big girl bed. She'll be 3.
