I'm stressing the time change this weekend. We're finally on a comfortable sleep schedule, and I'm worried it's going to get all out of whack. How are you planning to adjust to it?

Aww, sorry guys! We don't have daylight savings here, so I really have no advice(um, plus I don't have any kids).
Good luck with the switch though!

Ugh I'm worried too!! I've been trying for the last week to push his schedule a little later so I won't be waking up at 5 or putting him to bed at six but it is not working despite non excessive wake times and good naps. When I've tried to stretch him to an eight I click bedtime for a more reasonable 7 wake up he always bounces back after 2-3 days. Blech. I had no idea sleep was so much work

Ahh yes dreading this, DD just started getting into a routine/schedule about 2 weeks ago (shes 2 months) and is currently going to bed around 7pm...I really don't want her going to bed at 6pm...

Yes!!
@cvbee said to, over the course of a week, slowly start putting LO to bed later in 10 minute increments. Yesterday we were at 7:20, so we've gone 20 minutes past bedtime so far.
I'm not so worried about bedtime - I don't care if he goes down at 8. But I don't want him getting up at 6am

@Coco Bee: I'm confused. Wouldn't I want to start making her bedtime earlier to prepare for the time change? She goes to bed now at 7 pm, so shouldn't I start easing her bedtime back towards 6 since the "new" 7 pm, will technically be 6 now time? If I want to keep her bedtime at 7 that is. Does that make sense, or am I totally backwards?
Daylight savings time always blows my mind...

@jennylynn: I know it hurts my brain.
In a few days it will be an hour EARLIER. Which means you want your child to adjust to going ot bed LATER.
Cobi goes to bed at 7pm, on Sunday HIS 7 pm will only be 6pm (fall back). So I need him to be able to stay awake until 8pm (now). In a couple days HIS 8pm will be 7pm real time.
Does this make any sense?
He normally wakes up in the am at 7:30, which means we will risk a 6:30am wake up time on Sunday. But if I can get him to adjust to going to bed an hour later (his 8pm, the new 7pm), then he is more likely to sleep until the new 7:30am (his 8:30am).
Get it?

I'm not too worried. We recently spent a few weeks in my hometown which is in the Central time zone (we live in Eastern). It only took a couple of nights to adjust.

@jennylynn: Sorry!!!!
just trust me on this one get your LO accustomed to an 8pm bedtime and next week it will actually be a 7pm bedtime

Last year, we didn't adjust bedtime. We put DS to bed at 7:00 just like every other night and didn't have any issues.
Good luck you guys! Don't stress too much!

We've happened to have later things going on the past four nights so lo has been up a little later than normal. Not a whole hour...... but I'm hoping it will help.

@jennylynn: yes, @CoCo Bee: is right. We've gone through many time changes now. You want to put your baby down LATER. Don't stress too much. We've never had an issue with the time change as long as we adjust the bedtime the right way.

Is it this weekend? I do remember that it's in Nov but don't know the exact date.
Thanks for reminding me of the change.

@Sweet T: good to know that you didn't do anything and it all turned out just fine!
We haven't been putting LO to bed any later this week (although he's been waking later as if he's adjusting himself) and just plan on going about our day following the new time.

@Sammyfab: i've been trying to slowly change her bedtime, but she's only been waking up earlier. why couldn't she follow your LO??

@caffeinated: ahhh silly girl! That's the thing with my LO though...whenever we put him to bed later he wakes up earlier and gets less sleep overall. That's why I never bothered trying to push his bedtime.

@Coco Bee: I understand now idk why that was so difficult fr me to wrap my mind around! Thanks!
