I just started a new job and want to be here at least a year before taking a mat leave, since I'm in canada and would be gone a year.
LO is 13 months and I've got major baby fever. It feels so frustrating for factors beyond my control to be holding us back!
Can anyone commiserate?

Sort of! I've got wicked baby fever, but LO is 9 months, and I haven't even gone back to work yet!
So I have to wait at least another 9 months or so...ideally, we'd be TTC #2 next summer.
But...seeing as LO is a handful, and still doesn't STTN, its probably a blessing that I have to wait!

ME! So many of my friends are pregnant right now and I'd love to be pregnant and expecting a baby with them!! We were considering being one and done but life threw some unexpected curveballs and now we would like to have another child.
I'm currently on disability and receiving treatment that isn't very baby/fetus-friendly 
. Plus, my husband wants me to be working for at least a year (after coming off disability) before having another baby.

Yes! I had to wait due to insurance issues. Waited about four months. Started TTC, got pregnant after two cycles, then lost the pregnancy at 12 weeks. My OB is making me wait two cycles. Now I'm thinking of waiting even a few more months because I want to save up more $ to pay for the delivery (I work part time so no maternity leave for me). Plus I have a best friend who is getting married next summer and I'd like to go.

LO is 11m and I'm still on mat leave too (Canada).
I'd LOVE to have a spring baby but like you I'm not back to work yet either and we are moving this week. Maybe in a few months I can convince hubby.

Yep. My LO is 14 almost 15 weeks and DH say we have to wait at least until the end of the year at the earliest

@redsmarties: haha I have baby fever too! I only took 7 months off instead of a year so I'm hoping we will start trying again in a few months. L isn't STTN yet either but hopefully will be by the time LO#2 cones along.

Yes
I was diagnosed with Graves Disease at the same time I found out I was pregnant with LO#1. She's now 7 months+ and I'm currently waiting to find out if i'm going to have radiation or a thyroidectomy. If I have radiation I was told I have to wait a year before I can start ttc. We are already in our 30's and want up to 3 kids. I feel like I don't have time for this crap.

@sslm: I admit I had my first twinge of "oh, I want a tiny newborn" today,it it was brief and I'm blaming it on pms. We are waiting another almost 2 years, and I am sure I will be ready before then (but not until T sleeps though the night, because seriously. Seriously.)

We are going to discuss it again this summer, but after DS slept 13 hours last night, and I met my friend's adorable 6 day old today, I got my first tinge of the fever

Sort of. I've weirdly been getting nostalgic about being pregnant and having a newborn. I don't have my period back and wonder if I won't until LO night weans. Not that I'm ready for another until this one sleeps thru the night, but I still sometimes want to go for it.

@MamaPhoenix: I'm so sorry you have to put TTC on hold bc of Graves. I have Graves too and did the radioactive iodine treatment. I ended up having to be treated twice bc my thyroid was super resistent. Do you have to wait a year if they do the thyroid removal? I hope your treatment is finished soon so you can move on with your plans for baby #2

DH would like to try again but with our careers basically restarting and being so up in the air, I want to wait another 9 months or so.

I would really like a 2.5 (up to 3) year age gap between my children but DH needs to go back on his medication and his medication causes birth defects; he has to be off it for 6 months before we can TTC. We could TTC now, before he goes back on it, but I'm not quite ready - I'm going for a promotion at work for starters! Plus if we got pregnant quickly (like we did last time), we we would have two under two - no thanks! But if we wait, our timeline will be dependent on how long it takes for DH to get well enough to come off his medication - it will most certainly be delayed.

@redsmarties: Madeline doesn't sleep through the night either and she's 13 months. Ugh. Well, she has the last couple of nights so I'm hopeful this is it!! I'd like for her to sttn before I get pregnant again so add that to the list of reasons to wait haha

@Mrs. Sketchbook: so sorry about your mc. Our first pregnancy ended that way too, actually that's another reason I don't want to wait, in case that happens again and we lose more time. Ugh.

@Silva: ugggghhhhh Madeline is a terrible sleeper too. That is definitely something we're considering. I keep thinking about how exhausting it would be to be pregnant and dealing with her bad nights!!
@grizz: my sister is pregnant and I think that's contributing to my feelings!
@Zbug: sometimes I say to my husband, "we're not sleeping anyway so why not add another one to the mix?" Lol.
@birdofafeather: we actually both started new jobs in a new city, so I know the smart thing to do is wait but it's so hard!

@sslm: I like your thinking!! I got pregnant with my DS in Sept and he was born in June - it was a great time to have a baby! The days are light early and late into the evening, sunny weather but not too hot etc. Fingers crossed!

@sandy: My endo said that I could start ttc if I had the surgery, once we got the synthroid levels right. Any chance you'd be willing to answer some questions I have out the RAI? I've never meet someone else that has had graves.

@MamaPhoenix: it's been awhile (treated in 2004-2005) but I'm happy to answer any questions. Just wall me . I was on 88mcg of synthroid for about 9 years and just recently changed my dose but I think once your treated and they get the dosage it stays pretty stable. The only reason I discovered I had Graves was bc my mom was diagnosed and apparently it's very hereditary between girls
