Smokey the cat used to be the center of our lives! But now she is a distant priority... definitely way behind our two kids.
Anyone feel guilty about their pets getting much less attention since your kids came along?

Yes!!! my puppies have been put on the back burner. But they still get some attention just not enough.
We are bad pet parents. Of course, our human child has needed the extra attention with his special issues. We are starting to be able to pay more attention to the pups.
And we have a friend that comes and plays with them sometimes and now the kid wants to play with them. So I think things are looking up for them.

We got our kitty when our first was 3 months old, so it's all he knows! (and he gets lots of evening snuggles when they go to bed)

Yes, the majority of my mommy guilt. We are lavishing the baby with attention and the dog is staring at me. Fortunately he loves the baby, and we get out most evenings to take them for walks.
One cat loves the baby so I see her most of the time. The other two cats took a couple of months to forgive me for bringing the baby home. Slowly we are getting back into cuddle time again.

Our poor cat misses out! She really likes LO and is awesome with LO. She totally used to be the baby of the house!

I do, but feel better knowing that my mom is always here giving him attention. I know it's not the same though
I hate when he'll lick the baby and we'll tell him no, and he always leaves the room. We don't want him to leave the room, just stop licking her face and ear! I feel like he thinks we don't like him when that happens.

I feel guilty for leaving him with my fam. But I know he's super loved ad well taken care of. He would have been really neglected the first few months if we had him here with us.

My two cats don't see any less attention then they did before, they may actually see more because LO is starting to get interested in petting them. The dog gets fewer walks but that is getting better because DH picks LO up from daycare and they get home about an hour before me so they've started taking the dog for a walk around the neighborhood most nights.
