I hate hate hate ironing and there is a hand held garment steamer in the cartwheel app on sale and I'm wondering if they actually work and are worth it.
Anyone have one? What kind? Thoughts?

We don't have a hand held one, but we have a full size one and really like it. I hardly ever pull out my ironing board anymore.

@BadgerMom: I guess I don't really need it to be hand held. What kind do you have? I think this would make my life so happy. I despise the iron!

I have a steamer but I don't know if it is truly a replacement for the iron. It works great on certain fabrics and is super fast, but it doesn't work that great on DH's cotton shirts.

DH uses one for his suits. I've used it occasionally for my stuff. It doesn't replace an iron, but the steamer means he doesn't have to fold his suit pants immediately after getting home from work.

I loved the one we used at work when I worked retail, and could see it being a good investment. I could use one for my baking too, since it lets you make cookies shiny and things like that.

Yes, we have a full size one and it almost always replaces an iron (the exception would be DH's collared shirts)

I have one; got it way back when I registered it for my wedding! I have no idea what brand.. It came from BBB. We don't even own an iron and I try not to own clothes that need extensive ironing... So our steamer has worked out well for those few occasions that we suddenly really need it!
