My son wipe a tomato sauced hand on a cotton top that I like a lot. I have it soaking in cold water now but I really don't know where to go from here. We don't have any bleach.
The top is white with navy stripes.

Sunlight bar soap (in the laundry aisle) and cold water. It works on everything. I use it regularly to get oil stains out of clothes. It also took large red wine stains out of my wedding gown.

no. We have baking soda and we do have a mold cleaning agent that has bleach in it.

@heartonastring: ooh I have never heard of that. At first I thought you meant actually sunlight. I wonder if try have it at the grocery near me.

@MrsMccarthy: it was my grandmother's trick and now my mum and I both swear by it to! My grocery store carries it and it's usually like, two bars for $2.
I soak the item in cold water, then put the sunlight on and scrub lightly then pop it right in the wash.

i always wash it right away with any soap by hand. i use "zote" soap, but even dove or dish soap will usually work. i used to use the sunlight soap but then couldn't find it where i lived and used fels-naptha then realized it was pretty scary soap

I buy it at hardware stores and I throw it in my laundry or let it sit on stains before washingIt got oil off my husband's work pants!

I couldn't find sunlight but I got a plain bar soap to try since it was cheap.
