Now that LO is getting big like 20lbs, my back has been feeling stiff whenever I wear him in the ERGO. Anyone else feeling back pain with the ERGO?

My LO is 18lbs and my back is usually stiff at the end of the day, suspect it has more to do with my lack of back muscles than anything else. Do you get pain when you use other carriers?

Hmm.. I carry my daughter in the Ergo and she's well over 25 lbs but never really noticed pain. I just carry for short periods though.
Have you tried a back or hip carry?

Have you tried adjusting the strap that holds the two back straps together? I pulled mine down and that helped a lot.
LMW is 19 pounds as well... eeek. My back is ok but my knees are killing me!! They start to give out after wearing her and walking around for an hour or so!

Do you have a weak back already? I doubt it, if you have been baby wearing for a while so I would guess it's that you need to adjust the straps, but I also know I have weak back muscles and need to do a bunch of exercises to keep up with it as it is, so when I baby wear I'm sure I will tire quicker.

Definitely trying carrying your baby on your back with the ergo, I think that will make a difference

Make sure your Ergo is adjusted appropriately for you. You may even want to go into a baby store and have them look at the way you have it adjusted. I had constant pain when I tried to use Mr. Jacks' Ergo, but his is the Performance and built for a much bigger person. I used our smaller one and had it adjusted for me and voila! no more pain.

Do you make sure your core is engaged when carrying your LO? I find that when i'm conscious about firing my abs when walking with her, bending over, etc. that there is less back pain when i take her off. LO is about 18 lbs.
Also, i agree with @Mrs. Jacks about ensuring the Ergo is adjusted. I had no idea that you had to pull your shoulders back before adjusting the shoulder straps and it made a world of a difference!

I switched DS to the back carry recently (he's around 20 pounds now) and it's a lot more comfortable. I think once they hit a certain size, the fornt carry becomes harder.
