Sadly my diligent application of mamma mia oil and various creams has not staved off the stretch marks. I am thankful that the marks represent a growing baby but am also interested in removing these things after the birth! Anyone tried laser treatments? Effectiveness, cost, pain?

how long has it been? I find that post 1 year, the stretch marks faded quite a bit and you can barely see them. I was obsessed with finding laser treatments or anything that can help them! If i did laser, i'd probably wait until i was done having kids!

I asked my dermatologist about laser treatment on stretch marks. She said it's not effective and the only way would be a tummy tuck

@Freckles: still in utero so I'm planning ahead! I have heard that it's much cheaper and more effective to laser fresh, red ones rather than faded ones because they use different lasers.

My derm also said not to bother unless you're a model because it's not very effective

I had terrible stretch marks ...now at 4 months they have faded considerably. I'm thinking by a year I won't even notice them. I'd wait it out first before investing $$ in any treatments!

@raintreebee: I don't know anything about laser
but, I am waiting until we're all done with kids and then I'm getting a tummy tuck to remove stretch marks as well as any excess skin I'll have at that time.

@raintreebee: also, there is something call Red Light Therapy which treats acne & cellulite, but many say it treats stretch marks as well. I plan on trying this but were TTC right now so I figured why bother if I'll just be pregnant soon anyways...
