I'm not in love with the yogurt offerings at our grocery store and want to try making my own for LO. I know I need some as a starter, but I realized I got fat-free plain yogurt instead of whole-fat (they only had whole-fat flavored in organic, I think). Is it ok to use fat-free as a starter with whole milk?
Any other tips for DIY yogurt?
I tried with two different batches - the first I forgot about and let get too hot but the second I monitored closely with temperature in the slow cooker and still ended up with just runny, chunky milk... I don't want to keep trying and waste $$ organic milk! Ack.
