Oh, how infertility sucks, I think this is month 26 of TTC (beginning to lose count) and I've never been pregnant. Oh, how I wish to see a BFP!
Seriously, why can't I get that far? It's a simple test. Wondering what is going on?!? Is it the sperm not meeting the egg? Is there something wrong with it not being able to implant.
If this IUI doesn't work and I move on to IVF, will it really help? Or will I just to be wasting money?

@bluestriped bee: what's your diagnosis? IUI didn't do it for me (MFI) but IVF with ICSI did the trick. I hope you get your

@swedishfish: My diagonosis is mild PCOS with DOR. I think if I go to IVF, I'll do ICSI, too. Thanks! I hope this cycle works but I've had BFN already and I made the mistake of googling how soon beta tests can be done and I'm getting discouraged.

I've been wondering the same thing lately... I've never seen a BFP either, and I know it's not a sperm meets egg issue since we've made 17 embryos over our two IVF cycles. I'll be doing some more testing to make sure it's not an implantation issue (hysteroscopy, endometrial biopsy) before we do IVF again, but if it's not that, it's probably an egg quality issue 
I hope you get your BFP from this cycle, but if not, hopefully IVF will work for you!

I never saw a positive before doing IVF after 2.5 years of trying! I have endo and while we aren't 100% what about the endo kept me from getting pregnant (no issues with my tubes that we could tell), the process of IVF was all that we needed to make it work. Did you do another IUI recently? When are you expecting AF? I know you've been through many IUIs now. Perhaps IVF will do the trick if this IUI doesn't work!

@bluestriped bee: 23 months here and never seen a BFP. I don't even bother to test out the trigger, cause I don't want that to be the first (or could even be only *knock on wood*) BFP I ever see. I hate the not knowing either WHY either. We're starting the IVF cycle now, at least there's some sort of feeling of control and *knowing* if it doesn't work, then it's not a sperm meet egg problem.

@twodoghouse: Today is 14 DPO and I just went in for my beta from my 6th and last IUI. I took a wondfro test 2 days ago and a FRER yesterday and it was negative. Just waiting for my beta results at this point. Hoping it will catch something that I didn't.

Not me, but I have a friend who has been TTC since 2011. I have had my son and daughter in the time they have been TTC. They underwent several rounds of IUI to no avail, they are about to start IVF...I am praying it works for them!

I've seen a BFP once and it was from IVF. Unfortunately I'm not still pregnant. Sometime sperm and egg just can meet without some help.

@bluestriped bee: Sending lots of prayers your way! I so hope you get your BFP this cycle.
My heart goes out to all who have had a MC. For those of us who have never had a BFP, to me it would at least mean that it's possible, if that makes sense.

It makes you wish you could some kind of mirror into your uterus to show you what's going on in there. I have to say though, it's pretty awful to get a BFP (and a positive beta) and to watch it slowly fade away and then get told it's gone. And then everyone tells you, "well at least you know you can get pregnant" .

@ShootingStar: Ugh, I'm so sorry. I've never said that IRL, only in my head. Having a m/c is devatasting in itself and can't imagine the pain. But I think for those of us with IF for a long time, getting a BFP is like step 1 in getting pregnant. (Though, I'm beginning to wonder if there are 20 steps before the BFP. Why is it so hard?!?) I'm so sorry that people said that to you.

@bluestriped bee: Oh, I wasn't trying to imply you said anything wrong. IF is rough. You have every right to be completely frustrated. I was just pointing out not to hope for just get the BFP, because if that's all you get, then it's even rougher.

@bluestriped bee: I had never seen a BFP before doing IVF (30+ cycles). For us the RE seems to feel that getting the sperm and egg together was critical for us... we did 4 failed IUI's first.

i've never seen a BFP either 
we've been TTC for almost 4 years now (with a couple of breaks here and there) and nothing wrong with either of us. on one of the earlier cycles i'm pretty sure i had an early miscarriage (during the TWW), but i never tested to find out. i feel you...i'm at the end of another TWW right now and symptom spotting like crazy

I've been through both - months and months and months never seeing a BFP, and seeing one only to have it fade away. I honestly don't know which is harder. Everything about IF fucking sucks.

I've never been pregnant. PCOS, insulin resistance, low egg count and my husband has low motility sperm. Never had a positive ovulation test, nonetheless a positive pregnancy test. I never did iui or ivf though.

Just got my beta results. It was negative. 
I guess it's time to move onto IVF. Sad... I was hoping this would be the lucky cycle.

I didn't get a BFP until we did IVF. So sorry for your BFN but hopeful IVF is the answer for you!

@Leialou: I'm okay with IVF process and proceeding with it, but I think I was really hoping that this last IUI would have worked. I think I'm bummed and in a little bit of denial, at this point. But I want to move on and get pregnant this year, so I'm going to push through it. AF is probably going to come Monday, so I have a few days to get my emotions in check. It will probably hit me tomorrow after we see the RE.

One of my good friends was never pregnant, and she got pregnant on her first IVF cycle! She has a beautiful daughter now. FX for you!

@bluestriped bee: I'm so sorry this last trio of IUIs didn't do the trick and you'll be needing to move on to IVF. I never saw a BFP before my 2nd IVF cycle (trying since Oct '09), and it was such a sweet, overwhelming moment when it happened. Although I lost that pregnancy and just lost another one days ago (on 4th IVF cycle), the simple fact of getting the BFPs has brought me so much comfort, and given me a sense of confidence that I will get there in the end. I totally get what you mean-- I felt like I had finally achieved Step One, and that gave me renewed drive to keep reaching. Baby steps. But I am sooo impatient, and it's killing me! I just want to get ON with it, already! We'll both get there in the end, I know it!
