I've tried sleep sacks a few times on lo, including tonight, and I'm just not a huge fan. I don't think I'm claustrophobic, but they make me kind of feel like it, and I'm not even the one wearing it.
He seems fine in it, but I don't know how often I'll use it.

I think they might annoy my LO now that he wants to tummy sleep. he cant hike his leg up to flip over in them. He's in one right now but I'm going to try just regular jammies for night sleep tonight!

LO was fine with sleep sacks for the first year, but then we transitioned out of them when summer came. I attempted to put him in the sleep sack again a few months later with no luck.

Both of my kids loved sticking their legs through the crib slats while napping so they HATED sleep sacks.

We tried to transition out of them, and his horrible night sleep had us running (running!!!) back to them. He only wears them at night, and it's the perfect cue for him that it's lights out. Also, it helps keep him from trying to climb out of his crib!

N hated his! Just completely hated it. We quit using it pretty quickly and gave it to SIL for her lo.

Miss A just got tangled up in hers or put her feet through the harness slot so they were no good for us! A sleeps under a woollen cot duvet that's well tucked under her mattress.
Interestingly enough my nephew has always slept in a sleep sack and now that he's in a bed he hates sleeping under any sort of sheets or blankets!

sorry but i looooove them. both kids loved them. olive is still in hers at 2. i think i love them because i don't have to worry about whether they're warm enough. they're not really able to stay under the blanket until they're much older .... at almost 4 charlie still has problems staying under his blankets.

R seems to need them for a sleep cue but I am not a fan now that she is pulling herself up in the crib. So afraid she is going to trip. We have to go up a size and they are huge

I'm with Mrs. Bee! I love sleep sacks! I would still be using one with DD if she hadn't started unzipping them and getting out of them at 25 mos. We love the Baby DeeDee Sleep Nest and I also like GroBags.

He hated them, as soon as he could stand (just before 7 months) he would basically choke himself standing on it, pulling the neck tight. I had to get him out of them.
Maybe should add: he also hates blankets no matter how chilly it gets!

LO likes them. I agree that they're a great sleep cue and he's warm in them. It's amusing to watch him walk in one in his crib now that he's mobile.

We've never even used one! We swaddled until she could roll both ways at 2.5-3 months, and then it was summer, and didn't feel like a sleep sack was necessary. Now, she's such an active sleeper--rolling all around, bending, gymnastics--that I feel like a sleep sack would be too restrictive. We keep it pretty cool at night since I like to sleep with tons of blankets, and she's hasn't gotten hypothermia yet.

I've never found them really helpful. C hated having his arms swaddled, I tried one a few times once we stopped swaddling when he started rolling. I could have definitely tried it more, but once he grew out of it, I never wanted to spend the money on one in a larger size, so it went in the outgrown clothes tub.
Really all we need for a good night's sleep is a zippered fleece sleeper. He wakes a couple times a night in cotton pj's, but will sleep great in fleece.

We don't love them, but they're a must in the winter months... we try to go as long as possible with footies, but now it's too cold, so he's in a cotton sleep sack!

My son used to be obsessed with his, so much so that I had to send it to daycare when we started letting him nap there so he could cuddle it. At one point I thought I would have to send it to college with him!
We used the ones by Halo that were the early walker with the knitted openings for his feet, both in fleece and in mesh.

@matador84: right now we are using halo fleece sleep sacks, but i also have a wool one from merino kids that i haven't really used. they are supposed to be great for winter. the fleece sleep sack alone isn't warm enough for new york winters i've found, but we've just kept the heat up high.

I'll be curious as to whether our baby likes them. I cannot STAND anything that restricts my feet, and I haven't been able to since I was a little kid. I used to freak out at the thought of footy pajamas, which made my mother insane. I recently learned that my dad is like this, too. I call it my claustrophobic toes-wonder if baby will get them, too? If so, I have a feeling it will be no sleep sacks for us!

I looooove sleeps sacks. We have always just used Halo ones and DD likes them fine. We don't even bother with the early walker ones and she is still totally fine in it.
Any recommendations for something thicker than the Halo fleece ones but not as spendy as Merino Kids? I want to stop cranking the heat so high in winter and don't fancy dropping $150 on a sleepsack.

Never really used them, she didn't like it. She also hated to be swaddled so I thinks he has a confined issue. We just make sure she's in warm PJs and now that she's older enough we put a blanket with her. However, she's pretty warm blooded so she gets hot rather tahn cold.

we love them and it's a total sleep cue for DD. i think she's slept one nap without it because it was SUPER hot in her room. otherwise, we do diaper only and cotton sleep sack for hot nights (no A/C) and fleece with warm pjs for cold nights.

If you don't love them, what do you do to keep your LO warm in the cold winter? I'm guessing your heating bills must be high?

Well we don't have heating, so it was either a sleep sack or blanket. Needless to say, I'm a fan of the sleep sack!
