With A we just used a changing pad on top of her dresser and it worked great. LO' #2's dresser is a bit too high to use as a changing station though, so we were thinking of just going without. Did anyone not have a changing table/area? How did it work out? If you did have one, could you have lived without it?

I never bought a changing table because our condo is being used at full capacity. I change her on a mat on the bed or on at mat in her play area. She can not stay still anymore so changing diapers is tough these days.

We changed him on a mat on the living room floor, or on our bed.

We never used one. We just changed her on the floor or on the couch.

we had a changing pad on our dresser in our bedroom, but otherwise we used the floor. also, i'm a fan of changing mats instead of a bulky changing pad that i can use on the floor (well, a carpeted floor, or a bed or couch).

With one of my nanny jobs they didn't have any sort of changing table. It was odd at first, just because it's not something I'd considered, but it worked fine. When she was really teeny we usually used the add on thing for the pack-n-play, but other than that we just used the floor (they might have used their bed, but I didn't really go in there) and it was fine. I think the only issue would be if you were planning to get KU again really quickly, since getting up and down to change a toddler while pregnant could get uncomfortable.

Essential for us and we use pads on dressers!

We put a changing pad on top of DS's dresser, but if he's anywhere else in the house, we'll change him on the couch, the bed, the floor, wherever there's a flat surface!

Changing pads on the floor in the nursery and the living room. No complaints and kids are 18 mo.

I'm in the same boat. I had a dresser with a pad for DS, but when my mom bought me a dresser for LO, it's a little too high for a changing table, and I don't really have room or desire for a changing table. I do have a pnp with the changing table attachment, so I'll use that until LO grows out of it and then figure it out from there!

We moved to the floor when she got too wiggly at about 10 months. I'd just stay there for another baby.

I just use a changing pad on the floor. I haven't missed having a changing table one bit!

I still use the changing table attachment for our PnP. She hasn't outgrown it yet, and when she does I figure we'll just use pads on the floor.

We used the changing pad on his dresser for a good bit, but once he got longer {read: too tall to lay there} I opted for the floor or bed depending on what room we were in.
Also, as he got older, it just became easier to change him with is feet pointed towards me instead of perpendicular.

I just change on the bed, floor, or couch. I a basket of changing supplies in the den and our bedroom

I cannot imagine not having a changing pad. We have the bulky pad on top of a low dresser (we've had it in both our room and the nursery, both have low dressers). Our apartment is pretty small, so it's never that inconvenient to go to it, though I guess if we had two stories it would be more annoying.
We stayed in a rental house last week and it was so annoying not having a changing table. We used our bed mostly but it was annoying moving the supplies around and not as comfortable leaning over her. I would have just done the floor probably, so we could leave it set up, but DH has bad knees and getting up and down hurt them too much.
I'm so surprised how many people don't use one!

Also, early on she had some pretty explosive poops. I would not have wanted to be changing her on the floor or a bed at that point, even with the waterproof pad down.

We always change her on the changing pad. I am a germophobe so the thought of her pee/poo getting in our bed grosses me out (she has peed on the changing pad several times and gotten poo in it by sticking her feet in her dirty diaper then putting them on the pad...fun times). We have a changing table in her nursery (2nd floor) and we also converted our mini bar into a changing station (1st floor).

We bought a changing pad to use on top of a dresser but we only used it once. We've done changes since then on a changing mat on the floor. Even with our poop-sploder, we've (knock on wood) never pee or poop get on the floor. Since we moved to our own home last month I've started changing her on the bed instead of the nice new carpet at my mother's urging. It hurts my back though so I think I'm going back to the floor. I wouldn't try a changing station with my 10 months old now. She's too wiggly.

We never had a changing station for either lo and it worked just fine for us, I always just changed her on the floor, couch or bed.

I can't imagine doing it on the floor all the time. It is annoying when traveling and we have to do that. She tries to crawl away too much. Onto of the dresser is much better for my back and knees and she lays a little better (still a wrestling match)

We put a changing pad on top of the dresser.

We use a changing pad on top of a desk. The nursery was our office so we didn't see a point in buying a changing table to replace our desk which is the perfect size and height.

We put the changing pad on top of the bathroom counter. I love that I can wash my hands right away and during the newborn phase, take care of any poopy blowouts on clothing.

I use a towel on the floor, and it works great. We change the towel when it gets dirty or it has been a while. We have two stations set up on two different floors. LO loves one station and dislikes the other, I am not sure why. LO is not mobile yet, but when he is, I feel like I would be more nervous about falls at that point. I originally thought I needed a more formal diaper setup, but it works fine. When DH asked for a good reason we needed a changing pad, I could not think of one, so I did not get one. I keep all the supplies nearby both stations (diapers, wipes, vasoline, lotion).

We had just a changing pad on dresser for DS. With DD we don't have one and we don't miss it ever. We just change her wherever we are.

We put the pad on top of the dresser but then moved the pad down to the floor once LO started getting all rollie-pollie. Other than that we will change him downstairs on the floor/couch or wherever really (when he was a newborn and peeing/pooping all over everything it was pretty much always on the changing pad though!)

We just put a changing bad on a table we had already in the bedroom and used the one attached to the pack n play in the livin room.
