I just saw this photo and caption, from Life and Syle Weekly, regarding her group and wet nursing. How disgusting is this comment?!?

@mediagirl: I had the same reaction! Shame on them! It was distasteful and derogatory! If I had a subscription, I would cancel over something like that!
I think they had an email address you could weigh in on! Maybe next issue they'll retract an apology, as I was this garnering a lot of attention on FB yesterday!

Wow, that's a pretty shocking thing to say. There are some potential medical issues they could talk about with this idea so I just don't see why they went this route at all! Not necessary.

That's terrible. It's really interesting because there is such a push and pull with breastfeeding. There is such a focus on 'breast is best' and doing it the 'natural way' by breastfeeding but then stuff like this that millions of people see reinforces the idea that breastfeeding is weird and should be private and hidden.

I saw that on our local breastfeeding group page and it made me so angry! My DS had birth trauma (as did I) and we couldn't nurse for two days. Thank goodness for the milk that was donated to us!

I think the blurb is horrible-- incredible how they could compare it to slavery! However, I don't think that Alicia's milk sharing program is all that great, either.
