Apparently between the full moon and the barometric pressure changes that come with a hurricane full term pregnant women have a heightened chance of going into labor during this storm! I hope no one is stranded in labor!!!!

I'm hoping to MAKE a hurricane baby (also, that would be total TMI anywhere but here). I was just saying to DH how I wouldn't want to be 9 months pregnant right now. He claims he could deliver a baby no problem (he can't).
Hope everyone who needs to can get to the hospital!

@Foodnerd81: In May of 2011 Nashville had major flooding and 9months later there was a serious baby boom!! So I bet lots of babies will be made in the next couple days! Good luck! : )

Women I know who work in a NICU say there's usually a boom nine months after an event like this! Like after last years snow storm on Halloween etc., Good luck!

This morning, after it was confirmed that metro closed, DC Courts closed, and hubby's office closed, he walked into the kitchen when I was making coffee and said, "you know if we're holed up in the apt for 3 days, and get pregnant, we have to name the baby Sandy-boy or girl. I bet everyone that's making babies during this boom will name the baby Sandy too!"

@Foodnerd81: ha i told my dh the same thing!! we aren't TTC yet, so my suggestion of making a "sandy baby" didn't fly! LOL

The funny thing is, all these Sandy babies probably won't know why they have so many friends with birthdays at the same time. I know I would have been SO grossed out if my parents told me that!

I think a storm/blizzard making baby would be great! Just not anytime in the near future! Hopefully, in bad but totally not dangerous weather next year

@dc yoga bee: lol!!
I remember I made my DH read the Birth Partner and my midwife also taught a class that included prepping the husbands on how to give birth if they couldn't make it to the birth center in time! haha I think my husband could have done it if need be.

@MamaMoose: the same thing happened here after Hurrican Ike in 2008. There were lots of babies born in June '09.

It would be great if I had a hurricane baby.... even though I'm on the wrong side of the country for the hurricane.
I'll take any kind of baby at this point. Haha.

Haha a big weather front went through right before my water broke a couple weeks early. And there was a ton of people having babies the days I was in a hospital. Nurses said it happens all the time
