We are moving in a few weeks and figured that would be a good time to get LO (who is 2 years, 7 months) out of the crib and into a bed. Basically, since he will go into a new room in a new house, we plan to add "new bed" and "no pacifier" to the mix! Also since we are expecting LO2 and the crib will go him/her.

However, I know usually people transition from crib to toddler sized bed, we are planning to give him a queen size bed. Reason is we already own 2 queen beds (we are planning to get a king for the master room). In our current apartment, the spare queen bed is already in LO's room across from his crib. We sit on the bed and read books every night and then i lie down with him in the dark and tell stories and cuddle before putting him the crib. It's all part of "the routine". So basically, i just want to ditch the crib in the new house and put him to sleep in the bed we already use for other purposes in his room.

Has anyone done this and how did it go? I prefer to keep a big bed so I can keep that part of our routine where I lie down with him for bit (and do so comfortably like I do now!).

I am worried that sleeping in a big bed will be overwhelming for him somehow? Maybe i am overthinking it?
