Not that I need to buy more diapers, but I'm really curious about the Freetimes. I've got a lot of 4.0s and love them. I'd love to hear opinions on the Freetimes from people who ALSO have 4.0s. How do they compare?

Idk yet, but subscribing!
I'm going to try both, but thinking I'll like the Freetimes foe ease? Read a lot of good review on the Elementals but going to hold off on that until LO is older if I can do CDing.

My LO is 8 weekd. I have free times, and I think 3.0s (got them in eBay). I haven't used the free times yet, I need to break them out.

I don't like the Freetimes but I think I'm in the minority. They wash and dry well but fit weird on my LO. The 4.0s are nice because you can adjust the absorbency but I don't like stuffing diapers that much!

I have both... the Freetimes are a bit bulkier, but I feel like the absorb more (I currently use them as my nighttime diaper, with an extra infant insert tucked between the two flaps from my 4.0s). I used to think that my 4.0s were thick compared to my AIOs, but the Freetimes are a lot thicker!
Right now, we are still EBFing, so her poos aren't thick yet, so I can't attest to the scraping difficulties yet.

@autumnlove: interesting. I would have thought the fit would be the same!
@HabesBabe: more absorbant is good. thanks for mentioning that they are thicker.
@shopaholic: I forgot about elementals....are those just organic?

@cvbee: From what I saw, the Elementals are organic, but also fit a bit differently. Mainly longer in the crotch/rise - I guess because people were asking for larger sizes. I've read great reviews on them, but I know our baby won't be tall for her age, so I'm going to see how I like CDing and get them if we're still doing it when she's bigger. Here's a great video I saw the other day comparing the 3 types:

@cvbee: Yeah, I hear the velcro ones start curling or peeling after awhile - even if you line dry. But I think the side by side comparison is great for a visual learner like me!

Great comparison. I went with 4.0s and was happy but I did try elementsls and like them. I am really trying to get away from MF because it just doesn't stay clean for me but organic does.

@Thehistoryofus: microfibre does get stinky. The bleaching once a month does fix that for me, but I never wash every single one of my diapers at once, so there is often a random stinky one here and there. I know it's time to bleach again when I think I smell a #2, and then I open the diaper and it's just pee, or more specifically just microfiber stink. P-U. Tomorrow is a bleach day for me.

We have 4.0s and Freetimes, and I prefer the Freetimes. BUT, we didn't get any Freetimes until LO was 12 months old. I'm pretty sure I would think they were too bulky on a small baby (with the rise snaps snapped to the smallest setting). I love that they don't require stuffing. I was hesitant to try them because I thought the flaps would be a pain when spraying poop, but it hasn't really been an issue for us - the key is to put the back flap on top of the front flap so that all or the majority of the poop is on a single flap.
@shopaholic: The velcro has been a huge disappointment for me. I decided to ignore all of the poor reviews of the velcro because I thought my husband would like it better. The velcro lasted about a year. I'm in the process of converting mine to snaps - what a PITA!

@cvbee: Just remember that with Freetimes and Elementals (any AIO) you can't bleach them because it will damage the shell. Same with boiling, you can boil microfiber but you can do it if its attached to a shell.

@Thehistoryofus: You can use bleach on Elementals and Freetimes. BG recommends it.
@shopaholic: I actually paid attention today to my Elementals vs. 4.0s, and I think the rise is higher on my 4.0s. Maybe the inserts make them fit differently. I don't use the microfiber inserts.

@Weagle: Hmm! That IS interesting - based on reviews I heard the Elementals were kind of made in response to parents wanting bigger sizes and the video kind of seemed to echo that.
P.S. Do you find the elastic that your have to tuck in annoying or problematic?
@owlmom: Thanks! Bulk IS something I worry about. That's why I probably won't even start CDing until my LO seems to fit them better. We're going to have a small Asian baby (I assume! lol!)

@shopaholic: I think it's just the way they fit on my LO. The Elemental elastic is great! I prefer it to the elastic on any other diaper I own. It usually stays rolled in after washing, but it's not annoying to tuck it in. That's something you have to pay attention to no matter which diaper you use.

@Weagle: Thanks for that! I did think it was confusing in the video and even more confusing hearing about "changing the elastic."

@shopaholic: After a while the elastic can just get worn and stretched out. Your can buy repair kits to switch it out yourself, I think.
