I will! I need to get back on track. Things have been crazy here lately and I am just not getting enough exercise. I need to make it a priority even if it seems like I don't have time!

@jhd: yay! That's exactly what's been going on here too. Little miss is almost 5 months and I've ran less than a handful of times. What is your plan? I'm planning for 120 mins of exercise each week and then using MFP to track calories and macros
coconut / 8079 posts
@jetsa: I also use MFP for counting calories. I need to try to get out for a walk with the dog most days and try to get to the gym a couple times per week too.

I'll join! DS is 4 months old and I neeeed to fit back into my cloths. I have about 10 pounds to lose of my pregnancy weight and more after! I did some insanity workouts to help but don't have the time. I'm starting back at work and can now go to the gym during the day. I just need some social accountability!

Go you!!!! I'm working on it, losing slowly, and not quick enough to do another diet bet round.
grapefruit / 4663 posts
@blackbird: I haven't stepped on a scale since I got back to my pre-preganancy weight so we'll see how it goes. I am 100% okay with my weight but my stomach is super flabby and it is driving me crazy so the dietbet is more motivation than anything else.
@Eko: Yay! Thanks for joining us. Did you like insanity? I keep thinking about trying one of beach body's 30 min programs but I may just use fitness blender on days I don't run.
nectarine / 2148 posts
@jetsa: I like insanity! I've done lots of interval workouts before so the workouts weren't nevessarily the problem it was the diet. It is really hard to meal prep for 5 meals a day. I eventually just did the workouts since I can do them at home. I did what I could and sometimes couldn't finish one. I think going back to work it will be even harder doing a home workout.
wonderful grape / 20453 posts
@jetsa: heh, i hear you. I'm about 10 lbs away now but everything is SOFTTTTTT. Much squishy. Must do more planks, lol
nectarine / 2148 posts
@jetsa: @blackbird: yes to all of this. Must do more planks, leg lifts, mountain climbers, pretty much it all.
grapefruit / 4663 posts
@Eko: @jhd: good morning! How was the weekend? I went off track a little but I'm back at it today. Started the day with a protein shake and packed my gym bag for lunch <<<this is a big one for me, I say I don't have time yet I don't pump at noon anymore so I'm normally just browse the Internet for 60 mins...time to either run or do a fitness blender workout
nectarine / 2148 posts
Well my weekend was a win and fail?! If that's possible. I like to give myself some breaks since usually I work so hard on the weekdays. But, even though I indulged on apple crisp and beer during football, I made other better food choices, got out of the house more and made it to the gym Sunday. And I stepped on the scale and didn't gain any weight, so that's a win! Usually my weight yo-yos from weekdays to weekends.
Last week was my first week back at work and I managed to go to the gym before work everyday (even though it was 2 days). I pack my gym bag the night before so it's all ready for me to go in the morning. One day we ran late out the door so I only got a 30 minute workout as opposed to 45 minutes.
My goal this week is to eat better (last week was so hit and miss) and starting a better morning routine.
What is everyone else's goals this week?

I'm in. Two kids in less than two years has killed my body and having to return to work in maternity close because nothing else fits is making me sad.

Ugh I need to! 10 mo pp and I weaned too, so there's really no excuse... GD diet went so well that I'm thinking about trying to stick to something like it! I'm thinking I really have to start from dieting b/c I really have no energy to carve out time to work out right now..
grapefruit / 4663 posts
@Eko: @MrsH: yep me too. 20 months apart and I am currently layering 2 maternity tanks =\
grapefruit / 4663 posts
@snowjewelz: they say diet is the hardest part so I think you'd see results even without exercise
grapefruit / 4663 posts
@Eko: great job! My goal this week is to exercise. I can control my eating but I didn't exercise at all last week
nectarine / 2148 posts
@snowjewelz: @jetsa: I've heard it's about 80% diet, 20% exercise. I have lost weight from diet alone, but I find meal planning is more time consuming than going to the gym. But for me, working out considerably improved my mood. I'm trying to wear some non-maternity flowy cloths so I'm not wearing maternity cloths 100% of the time.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@Eko: I totally agree. It was such a pain to constantly think about what I could eat that's low or no carb while I had GD, it really is almost easier to just say I'm gonna go run for half an hour or something!
nectarine / 2148 posts
@snowjewelz: I've done various diets pre-kids and had the time. I tried insanity about 2 months pp and never had the time to figure out 5 meals a day nevermind cook for multiple meals, etc.
honeydew / 7667 posts
@jetsa: @Eko: seriously - 18 months apart here and the fluff above my c-section scar (plus the 40 extra lbs) isn't helping me fit into real pants.
grapefruit / 4663 posts
Literally had all the excuses about why I did not want to run at lunch. In order to force myself I changed into my running clothes and took my car for a much needed oil change 3/4 mile away and didn't ask someone to come get me and bring me back to the office. That 1 mile run turned into 2.15 soo the cliche is true the first step was definitely the hardest.
nectarine / 2148 posts
@jetsa: that's awesome! Really smart thinking! They say diet and exercise is supposed to be a lifestyle change right?!
coconut / 8079 posts
@jetsa: Great job getting out and exercising on your lunch break! That's awesome! Weekend wasn't so great. We went to visit the ILs. Which means I didn't eat much before riding in the car, but made up for it by snacking too much once I got home. But I did take the dog for a walk while pushing LO in the stroller yesterday evening.
grapefruit / 4663 posts
@jhd: @Eko: I'm potty training my son this weekend and my diet has already gone out the window. I realize it but this is so hard
coconut / 8079 posts
@jetsa: it is hard! I hope potty training goes well. I have been eating ok this week, but I really need to get some good exercise to make any progress. It seems like every time I figure out a schedule that works something changes!
nectarine / 2148 posts
@jetsa: @jhd: I am in the same boat. Starting back at work has been difficult. We are really pressed for money until I start getting pay checks again so we are trying to eat what's in the house. I skipped the gym yesterday because honestly I just wanted time to get ready in the morning and look decent for once lol. I guess the best we can do is just jump back on the horse as quickly as possible! I honestly think the people that can manage to stay on top of their game like this 100% of the time are people without kids or professional fitness people.
nectarine / 2148 posts
Side note a weird thing that helps keep me motivated is trying to accomplish good before and after photos. Lol.. Sounds so vain but I'm amazed when I see other people's photos and I want to accomplish it too
grapefruit / 4663 posts
@Eko: I never stick with it long enough for them to do any good! I should totally take some.
I'm back at it today. Ran at noon and logging calories/macros
nectarine / 2148 posts
@jetsa: That's great! I had to work ot today so I couldn't make it to the gym. I was so busy I didn't get to really eat so does that count?
grapefruit / 4663 posts
And I fell off the wagon. I was completely on track for the end of my diet bet next week and then my husband got the stomach flu and solo parenting and working just don't lead to eating well or working out
How are you guys doing?
nectarine / 2148 posts
My feet are still dragging behind the wagon. lol. I feel ya though. DH got sick a couple weeks ago and then LO caught it.
Food area has been super bad. I don't eat very much throughout the day and lately it's involved a lot of halloween candy. I've been really good with the gym though. I've gone everyday and my body hurts so bad. I'm soooo close to fitting back into my pre-pregnancy jeans that it's motivational just to push through it.
grapefruit / 4663 posts
@Eko: go you for making it to the gym! I last ran on Sunday maybe tonight! I am also fitting into a lot of my pre-preg clothes I just need to finish this out and start toning bc I'm pretty flabby currently
nectarine / 2148 posts
@jetsa: I'm fortunate enough where going to the gym has been built into my day. I am able to go at lunch during work and make up half an hour before work. I go with coworkers and we do some of the classes. I don't really work out on weekends though. So it's no real interference with my day. It'll get harder once my schedule gets busier. We got this though!!!
grapefruit / 4663 posts
@Eko: that's exactly what I was doing, running on my lunch hour but I haven't brought in gym clothes this week which is a stupid excuse but a true one
nectarine / 2148 posts
@jetsa: do you have anyone at work that you could workout with? I find it is easier to go when I workout with coworkers or when I do classes since it's more enjoyable.
grapefruit / 4663 posts
@Eko: everyone I work with is male and over 50 so no =\ I wish there was someone though. A few years ago I had a running partner and it was great motivation
