I hate shoes, you guys. I don't like the way any of them look. I am a Birkenstock / Dansko kind of person. But I'm trying to be a better adult, and we have some "events" this spring related to my husbands job and I'd like to not look ridiculous.

I'm going to try this dress, probably get it hemmed to just above the knee or maybe slightly higher if it works out.
I need a country club cocktail party appropriate sandal, and a more casual flat or low wedge? for some dinners out we have this spring (one is in early May so it could be cool still)
No more than about a 2 inch heel, and it has to be a wedge style (I'm just bad at being a lady, guys. I literally don't know how to walk in heels). Comfort is key. Since I need two pair they really have to be affordable.

I have a pair of flat gladiator sandals from gentle souls that I adore, but I'm thinking with this dress I will need a little lift to not look squat. I also have a low wedge heel in a brownish burgundy color, but I'm not sure the colors will work.

Are these terrible? I don't quite understand the physics of how you walk in something with a heel but no ankle strap, but the reviews on Amazon are pretty positive. http://www.6pm.com/ugg-adalie-tropical-sunset-leather?zhlfid=139&kpid=34456511
