Anyone who don't know when they O?

I just started charting this month & have such a hard time figuring out my O date. I have been temping, and FF guessed I O'd already. I try to check CM, I don't really think I've any the CM needed to O though.

To make it more complicated, I have no history (was on BCP) so according to my last cycle of 27 days, I should've O'd already. But I might not have, if my cycle is going to be different.

Now I am already in limbo; if I O'd already then I don't want to waste OPKs. I am just switching to BD EOD now in hopes that I didn't O yet and we'll try to catch it! Next cycle I'm gonna order cheap strip tests and test everyday.

Anyone else frustrated because you don't know when O is?

@snowjewelz: I never really knew, even the cycle I got pregnant was kind of iffy. I just BD everyday or every other day and hope for the best. Right now, my OB says according to blood-work that I am not ovulating at all, but we still BD EOD and test at the end of the 28 days.
It is frustrating but then again I find it liberating sometimes because OPKs can drive a girl crazy.

@CupQuakeWalk: Oh no! So this is a new occurrence? But props to you guys still trying! Yeah, I feel like I didn't even do a full month of charting and I'm already crazy!

For what it's worth, I had no real definite idea when O was the month I got my first BFP, and DH was working 90 hour weeks so we only BDed I think twice. Still turned out to be pregnant that month. So you don't have to know, and it REALLY only takes once sometimes. Good luck! I did use opk's when TTC again, and it was nice to know, but it also put more pressure on us to get the timing right. I'm not sure which route we'll go if we wind up back there again.

@snowjewelz: Based on your chart, I suspect you probably haven't O'd yet, but it's hard for FF to figure it out when there are temps missing and no other information. Oing on CD 11 seems kind of early to me, though it's definitely possible. I would just keep BDing EOD (or whatever you decide) and continue to temp. FF may move your O date based on more information!

@Torchwood: that's awesome! I think we all hope and dream of it "just happening"!

@Adira: I've been so stressed over this I didn't temp these past few days lol, plus having snow days totally put me off schedule. My plan is def just to BD EOD or at least every 3 days till the end and see what happens!

@snowjewelz: Yeah, I normally keep it to myself how easily we got pregnant every time, because I know it's NOT what people want to hear when they've been trying for a while. But you said on the poas thread that you're just starting out, and I always thought people like me gave me hope back when I was starting. Hope you don't mind!

@snowjewelz: Especially with that recent temp dip, I suspect you haven't O'd, but it's hard to tell! Hopefully you'll figure it out soon enough!

@Torchwood: I think it gives more perspective; that it's okay if you don't knowanything or don't do it the "right" way

@Adira: Some people told me I didn't, and I honestly didn't feel anything and couldn't really see CM so I am just going to believe that I didn't! That way I have better motivation to keep going vs thinking I already O'd and that's that

My guess would be that you are still having wonky cycles after BCP?? That or perhaps a long cycle with late O. I know people who have conceived on 40 day cycle so don't lose hope!

Do you have any sense of how long your cycles were before you were on BCP?

@septca: That was before 17, more than 10 years ago lol I don't think I had any idea of cycles as a teen! I just remember terrible cramps that led me to start BCP.

@looch: 2nd! I didn't do anything the first one since I just started reading up on TTC. I really just wanted to vent that I was so excited to start, and barely halfway through my first month I'm already so frustrated with this!

@snowjewelz: I was on the pill for 10 years as well. My first cycle off was really long, the second was like 40 days and then I settled into 33 days. I'd give it a few more months to see what emerges, I thought I should be 28 days, but it turns out not to be the case for me.

@looch: I think this first cycle fooled me; it's 1 day earlier than my normal cycle w/ BCP. I truly would not be surprised if this cycle is longer, but of course I'd be ecstatic if it's still 27 days! It must have driven you crazy in the beginning when your cycles were so long!

I agree with the others, according to your chart it doesn't look like you've O'd yet. I'm not even sure why FF is giving you any crosshairs. Maybe if you discarded the temp on cd12 it would remove them? Anyway, keep OPKing and BDing, you still have a shot I think!

@looch: So true, if I wasn't TTC I'd actually be so happy AF is no where to be found lol. I wouldn't care if I skipped them, had it for 2 days, had it every 60 days... etc!

Like @looch: I had 40ish and 60ish day cycles when I went off BC before they started to normalize.

@HolisticMama: oreally, and not checking yet. I read about it, tried, and not really sure what to make of it yet! I also check CM from "in there", but also still in the learning stage so nothing is really help me THAT much. I did notice a lot of CM today that I haven't been having! I think my only way this month is BD BD BD haha, unless I feel like opening my box of OPKs, betting that I didn't O yet! But then if I end up having a 40 day cycle or something, then I'd be waaaay too early to be using them!

Me! I have no idea! I've been off BCP since August, and have yet to have a normal cycle!

@MrsBrewer: I am not alone! I had a normal cycle after BCP, so it made me think that I am regular already, but I may or may not be! How have your cycles been? Are you waiting to regulate before TTC?

@snowjewelz: Well my first cycle after going off BCP was 60 days I think, and then my second was 90+, and then my Dr prescribed Provera to induce a period. Then it was weird exactly 2 weeks after my period started (the one that was induced by Provera), I got another period! So currently I think I'm on CD27. So we'll see how this cycle goes!

We are just waiting to TTC in general. Hopefully within the next year or so! But currently we're just using the pull out method of BC, so nothing too exact!
