(I don't know what board to put this on?)
A former coworker lost her newborn to a genetic disease last week, and the memorial is today. DH and I are planning to attend, but the question is whether to bring X or not. The memorial will be at the church where I used to work. Whenever I visit without X, everyone asks where he is, so I'd like to bring him with me. But I worry about whether it might be insensitive to bring my healthy little toddler to the service-- if it might be painful for the mother (my former coworker) to see. There should be A LOT of people there (I'm guessing 1000+), so we may not be noticed by the family at all.
So-- what do you think? Should we bring X or not? (I should add that X will probably be in the cry room during the service, so it's not a question of whether he'll be able to handle the service itself, so much as whether it would be painful for the mom.)
