I can't help but think that if my parents had tried that with us, that we would have grabbed the elf (ruined his magic on purpose) and tied him up to keep him from squealing. It wouldn't have been effective, and being that my darling boy is just as devious, it's so not worth even trying.

I'm allergic to cats and he is hypoallergenic, so he is the first cat I have ever been able to play with and/or get to know. He likes to sleep on my pillow. Here he is cashed out on the couch.
We are bringing home his "brother" Zhukov in another 4 weeks! They are 8 weeks apart in age.

@.twist.: He is a Siberian! This is still mostly his kitten under coat. His outer coat is slowly growing in.
He's hypoallergenic because there is only a trace amount of the usual cat allergen in his saliva. But additionally, Siberians only shed twice a year, for a week or two each time. So we don't even have to contend with cat hair everywhere (though I'm sure those couple of weeks will be brutal when the time comes!).
ETA: We did need to go through a breeder to get him, though, which may or may not coincide with your individual cat ownership preferences. My husband and I would have preferred to rescue a cat, but my allergy doesn't allow that.

@ElbieKay: no idea! I had a friend who had two of them. They are amazing. Their fur is like silk and they have short little whiskers. I love them to pieces. I wish I knew the breed.

@.twist.: It looks like a siamese of some sort, sort of.. Our bengal kitten is considered hypo, we had company who have a son who is highly allergic to cats and he didn't have any priblems with her. She crawled all over him and licked his face, thry said normally he'll have an asthma attack or swell up. I can't upload pics from my phone and they aren't on my work computer either. She's too fast to get a decent shot
