I've been sick for 4-5 days with a nasty cold, but, the last couple days I started feeling nauseous, constipated, and refluxy in ways that didn't seem to match the other symptoms. I decided not to trust my neg cheapie dip strips (even though they say they have 10mIU sensitivity). Went to CVS and grabbed a test. Got a clear

@dominobee: Well they won't see me until my period starts so hopefully it shows up soon.
@lilyofthewest: congrats!

@dominobee: Yeah, I think it's just the unfortunate reality. Counting chemicals something like 35% of pregnancies end in loss, and 20% after the pregnancy has been medically established. Doing very sensitive blood tests to detect implantation shows that over 50% of pregnancies that implant are lost, most within 24 hours of implantation before you can even get a squinter. During the time we were trying I wanted so desperately to see the second line, but now realize how far that is from a healthy baby. It's also true that almost everyone around me has kids or is having babies. It's hard and it hasn't even been a full year of trying for us, I think you are doing an awesome job handling everything.

Cheapie is showing up more clearly than the blue dye test in the pic, but in person the pink line is suuuper faint and the blue one is obvious

Now to get on daycare waitlist! We had so much trouble getting LO into daycare that I've been joking that I would call daycare before my partner. As it is, Sweetie (and y'all) are finding out an hour before daycare.

@periwinklebee: And I 100% believe those stats. I feel like there's just no way we haven't had at least one egg fertilized in 24 cycles of TTC since we both checked out as healthy and fertile. I'm mad it took me so long to catch my short LP. Makes me wonder how many eggs were fertilized but didn't have time to implant.

@lilyofthewest: LOL! A preschool teacher w/ two young kids once told me you need to get on a list before you're even pregnant. That may be a little extreme...

@dominobee:
@lilyofthewest: In our area, I really should get on a daycare wait list before getting pregnant, but it just feels weird. Last pregnancy I was going to call them as soon as we saw the heartbeat, but then it was slow so I never did it... Congrats again!

@lilyofthewest: congratulations!!! I think I remember us being in the same area, and yes yes yes! One of my colleagues just got off the list- and the "baby" is now four!

@dominobee: @tramdoof: @theotherstark: @dc yoga bee: @periwinklebee: @bhbee: Thanks all! I'm kinda shocked. LO took 8 cycles (and I was 3 years younger and not AMA then!) so I wasn't expecting it to happen so quickly.
@dc yoga bee: LO is almost 2 and still hasn't gotten off of the 5 waitlists we got on when I was 1st tri pregnant with him. It is ridiculous.
@dominobee: I considered trying to get on waitlists as soon as we were sure we wanted a #2. But they require you to put your EDD. Rrrrgh.

@lilyofthewest: Congrats!! I can't wait to see tomorrow's! (I clearly have a problem...)

Does anyone have painful ovulation?? In the past I would have brief pangs around ovulation but nothing too intense. I took an opks today and it was positive as I've been having pain on my right side (the good one) that's really painful! If it was physically possible I'd be worried about ectopic!

@knittylady: I usually feel ovulation.
Does anyone else dislike their wardrobe, but not want to update due to TTC? I don't have many clothes at present, what I do have is getting really old and threadbare, and doesn't fit (I lost weight first trimester and my band appears to have somehow gone up not one but two sizes, so weird). I feel blah about my clothes but given how much pregnancy can change your body, I really don't feel like spending time and money finding new stuff...

@periwinklebee: yes been there. Or I only will get something that is loose enough to work in early pregnancy and for nursing, which is not always the most flattering.

@mrskansas: don't know. 315 last Tuesday and i go in again tomorrow... this isn't from the bad side though...

@knittylady: if your hpt would be positive an opk will be positive too
nectarine / 2813 posts
@knittylady: I would bet it's the leftover HCG making the OPK positive. Do you have any cheap HPTs you can take?

@bhbee: I feel like my biggest problem is pants, which are the most annoying to find/expensive, and the least likely to work during or after pregnancy... maybe i will bite the bullet soon and buy new underwear at a minimum, as mine have really seen better days. A year ago I thought about getting new ones then said, no, we're ttc soon. Bad call...
nectarine / 2813 posts
@periwinklebee: I would absolutely buy a few staple pieces if you're in need. Clothes that fit well and make you feel good are really important in my opinion. And I know everyone is different, but I lost all the weight I gained within 3 or 4 months and my body is exactly the same as it was before so i can still wear my clothes. I invested in a lot of stuff before I got pregnant so it was extra motivation to lose the weight.

@periwinklebee: yes on the clothes! I really don't like shopping. And I have gained weight since last summer so I'm going to need a few things for warmer weather.
grapefruit / 4466 posts
@jhd: Yeah, I have so little patience for shopping. I don't mind tops so much because it's easy to pair some sort of tee with a cardigan and scarf or necklace, but bottoms kill me, especially pants.
@mrskansas: I really hope, most of all that I have a kid, and contingent on that, that I'll get my old body back. But who knows... not really counting on it I do agree that I would feel better with newer, better fitting clothes.
cantaloupe / 6086 posts
@periwinklebee: I say buy the pants. Then the fates will be sure to repay you with a sticky baby. Or at least that's the crazy stuff I tell myself
And I totally got my body back after #1. After that all bets are off!

Gah I'm trying to fall asleep but keep on feeling a bunch of sharp pinching poking sensations down there that I've only ever felt before with my bfp. I just want to fall asleep so I can wake up and test but ouch. Don't want to get my hopes up though as it's probably adhesions from the d&e or something making the onset of af weird.
