@periwinklebee: I totally feel you. It's such an emotional rollercoaster. Sometimes I feel really optimistic about TTC and sometimes it feels completely hopeless. I thought I would have a child by now. And sometimes I'm mad at myself for waiting so long to start trying. We didn't really even consider it until we were both 32.

You guys I don't know what's been up with my brain but I had myself two days ahead in my cycle. I though today was CD 12 but it's only CD 10! I started doing OPKs yesterday even though I don't really need to start until tomorrow. So BD on CD 8 and today was just for fun.

@skiierchck99: Welcome! So so many positive thoughts for you! Please keep us updated along the way!
Have you also checked out our IVF board? They have an ongoing thread for all things IVF. Might be an additional resource for you!

@dominobee: I feel like I have gained a lot of perspectives that will help me with parenting, that I wouldn't have had if I'd had kids earlier. I'm pretty sure my husband wouldn't have been ready when we were much younger, and financially and logistically (DH had a job in a city a couple hours away for years), it would have been hard to swing. So I don't regret starting when we did, though I admire people who manage to start earlier. But I wouldn't mind having TTC done with for a little while, I'm so over it already, I can't even imagine how you feel after two years

@periwinklebee: I feel impatient! I had initially told the RE we'd do three more cycles (including this one) of timed intercourse before IUI but I think I'm going to scrap that plan and try IUI next month. Obviously DH and I have to talk about it, but I think he will be on board because he's just as anxious as I am to be a parent.

But fingers crossed we don't need to!!

@dominobee: this seems like a good plan. I feel like I need a plan, even if I hope it won't be executed, just for peace of mind...

I'm just catching up from when I was last reading this board....

@dominobee: LOL! That pulling out story cracked me up. We've all been there at one point--sometimes, there is just absolutely nothing sexy or romantic about TTC.

@Marfi: Sorry to see you on this board, sister! But good luck this cycle. This is my 4th cycle, but my first one we're NTNP, so no OPKs whatsoever....which occasionally drives me mad. Hopefully this method works out for both of us!

P.S. I already scheduled an appointment with an RE in June, just in case. Not sure how it works where you are, but can you make an appointment ahead of time? One of the bees here recommended I do that in case they book out really far.

So without using any method of tracking ovulation except for looking (feeling?) at my CM, I think I ovulated?

Based on my app, I started to get super watery/clear CM on 3/19 until 3/24, EWCM on 3/22 and 3/25, then yesterday at work I had a huge gunk of off-white creamy CM and today it's been kinda dry.

I dunno what this means (I know CM alone isn't reliable), but I'm just glad got we BD'd almost every day throughout that time frame.

@mrskansas: CD24 today. The CM changes are significant, so I hope it means something!

    @madisonbee: Good luck!
One thing to keep in mind, and I only know this from my months of research, is that PCOS can cause EWCM with no ovulation. False surges are pretty common and then you'll get the typical post-O creamy/dry CM until your body gears up to O again.
I hope I don't sound obnoxious I just thought I'd throw that out there since I've read about it.

    pear / 1677 posts

@mrskansas: You don't sound obnoxious at all! Thanks for that! I haven't had my week long sore and sensitive boobies that I do every cycle (whether ovulating per OPK or about to AF), so that's also making me wonder.

  15. mrskansas

    nectarine / 2813 posts

@madisonbee: Our bodies are just confusing, that's pretty much all I actually know, haha.
I had a false surge last month and it sucked because I thought I was almost done with the TWW but as it turns out I was just starting!

  16. Mrs. Oreo

@mrskansas: Ugh, right?! In my attempt to NTNP, I had a latte or coffee almost every day this cycle for my "breakfast" at work (god, I missed that!) and just eating foods without wondering if it's "safe." My attempt at "relaxing."

  17. mrskansas

    nectarine / 2813 posts

@madisonbee: Ha, you are better than me! I'm still drinking my daily Diet Coke and will not stop until I get a positive test.

@mrskansas: Lol! Oh, the things we do...

I'm babysitting a friend's 16 month old soon and I'm curious as to how I'll handle that. I've taken care of my nieces and nephews, but never a friend's baby/toddler by myself. She's a doll (at times) so I hope she's a good girl when we hang out.

  19. mrskansas

    nectarine / 2813 posts

@madisonbee: That is such a fun age!
To be honest, I was not comfortable with babies/toddlers until I had my own. I never knew what to do with them or how to talk to them and thought I would be a horrible parent because of it.
But as soon as your baby is born it all comes naturally I still don't really like other people's kids though

@mrskansas @madisonbee: Yeah I have not changed my diet at all. Coffee every morning... but I have gotten myself down to one cup so that when I get PG it's not too much of a change. Caffeine withdrawal is REAL.

@dominobee: I agree I've tried to wean myself off the macchiatos/ lattes to just regular cups of coffee so I can get used to the lack of espresso in my system. because hopefully when the time comes, the struggle will be REAL lol

We weren't going to TTC until next month but I had a slight miscalculation last night so Im going to join since there is a very slight chance...
    Cycle Day: 9
    TTC Cycle: 1
    Ovulation Date: 4/2
    POAS Date: 4/16
    Baby #: 2
What's up this month: so we were waiting bc we wanted to avoid a December baby and just better for my work but last night I thought was safe not to pull out. Afterwards I realized that I could technically ovulate in the next five days and sperm can technically live that long. Oops. But I know we would be so very lucky and blessed if that's all it took.
For Fun: Red Sox though I don't pay any attention anymore. Fav flower prob hydrangeas.

You all, I swear that progesterone - or something else that gets released by the corpus luteum - gives me raging baby fever. I can recognize a lot of great things about not having a newborn or being pregnant now, and yet nothing lessens it. It's worse after ovulation - I think it's partly hormonal, and not just the psychological aspect of the TWW.

@mrskansas: eek. That would drive me crazy too!

Still nothing and I'm either 9dpo or 7dpo (if I ovulated on CD 17 instead). Hard to say since I didn't use OPKs this month. Will try to hold out until Friday at this point.

  38. mrskansas

    nectarine / 2813 posts

@bushelandapeck: 7-9 DPO is the absolute worst.
