Just want everyone to know I'm still here and reading! Have some issues going on at work (including being stalked/found on here) so I'm hesitant to comment as much right now. Debating a username change or new account altogether too...
Gearing up to O this weekend... Haven't temped all week, haven't "forced" BD but hinted that we need to soon and frequently. I might OPK tomorrow and Saturday, the usual days, but we'll see! Thinking of everyone

Since I always wondered this while TTC I decided to experiment. What does an OPK look like when pregnant? Top pic is HPT and bottom is OPK. Not sure if anyone else cared.....

Well, @septca was right! My temp spiked today and FF moved my CH to CD13. We BD O-2 and O-1, so I'm pretty happy with that timing. My chart still looks weird, though.

CD11 here. DH and I are thinking that the issue might be progesterone. While I O on CD15 90% of the time (has been CD14 for 1-2 cycles), my LP ranges 10-13 days. Two cycles ago, my temp went up around CD10 and stayed up for a few days (I was SURE I was pregnant), and then it started. I have read that age and stress are huge with luteal phase defects, and I am 34 and have been under lots of stress. Unfortunately, we're in this awkward insurance situation- we have a high deductible and changing insurance and doctors next month so essentially anything is out of pocket. My current doctor is family practice, and doesn't have a lot of IF knowledge, but will let me do just about anything I want. Someone told me they had a similar situation and used progesterone tablets vaginally since it was much cheaper than suppositories. Does anyone know anything about this?

@AmeliaBedilia: *raises hand* I called them jelly beans... They look like yellow jelly beans and are usually taken orally. I insert them in my lady bits post-O. Why do you think you have a LPD though?
nectarine / 2192 posts
@LindsayInNY: Thanks, I was hoping you would respond. I think this might be the case because my LP is inconsistent, I often don't make it to my POAS date, it's common in women in their 30s, and I really think I had a non-sticky baby 2 cycles ago. I think there is little to lose in trying and everything to gain. Which form of progesterone do you take and what dose? How many days after O do you start? When do you POAS? I think you had said if it's a BFN you stop the progesterone and then AF comes, right? Thanks!!!
bananas / 9229 posts
@AmeliaBedilia: My LP is 10-12 days (if I'm remembering correctly pre-progesterone). I usually spot for 1-3 days before. I asked the RE about this last week and he said it wasn't anything to be concerned about and that my progesterone levels were fine (they were). So I dunno... My ob/gyn prescribed the 200mg capsules to take/insert vaginally. I take them once O is confirmed by temping so usually around 3-4 DPO? She prescribed 12 days worth but that would be the world's longest LP so I usually take it for 10 days or so before testing and stopping. AF won't arrive until I stop it. I prefer to POAS on a weekend so I'll wait to test until then. It tends to be anywhere from 12-14DPO most cycles? From what I understand now though, a LP varying by a day or two isn't a big deal. And I thought my spotting was low progesterone and it wasn't. So anyone's guess at this point!

@LindsayInNY: Thanks! That is super helpful. How much does it cost?
bananas / 9229 posts
@AmeliaBedilia: I believe it's a generic so I just pay my normal RX co-pay.

I'm having a very odd cycle. My LP is normally 11-12 days like clockwork. According to FF, I am now at 15 DPO. That never happens. My suspicion is that I may have ovulated one or two days later than FF says I did. FF says I ovulated on CD14, which is the same day I got my first positive OPK. I suspect I actually ovulated on CD15 or 16.
Even allowing for the possibility that I ovulated on CD15 or 16, my period is still late. I got a BFN from a Wondfo on Thursday at 13 DPO so I'm not getting my hopes up at all, but this is very out of the ordinary for me. I'm not even getting my usual pre-menstrual minor cramping that always happens 24 hours or so before I start.
I guess if my period hasn't come by tomorrow morning I'll test again. Weird.

@LindsayInNY: I hope you are ok, that is so,strange and creepy.
@PawPrints: ooooh..., please test again! Can you use a frer in the morning?
@littlek: THANK YOU for this!!! I've been really curious about that, but didn't feel it appropriate to ask.
I took a tumble down the stairs and now I'm super sore.

I decided to stop temping and OPKs this week. Ya know, the week before O... Smart, right? I decided to do OPKs Friday and tonight (CD18 and 19) since that's when I've gotten positives the past couple cycles. Of course they practically white now... I'm fearful we missed O and since I wasn't temping I won't know. Can acupuncture move up O? So frustrating.
pomegranate / 3658 posts
Okay! You guys convinced me, I tested again on a Wondfo and... another So who knows, I guess my period is coming in a day or so.
nectarine / 2192 posts
@LindsayInNY: Acupuncture could affect O. One thing I sometimes do is just checking the temp a few days around suspected ovulation to confirm. This only works if you're pretty regular. I plan on checking my temp the day before I suspect O, and then for a couple days afterward.
bananas / 9229 posts
@AmeliaBedilia: I might temp tomorrow, just to see where it's at? I haven't temped since last weekend though. I never O that much earlier though. It's either acupuncture or no reason?
bananas / 9229 posts
@Crystal: That could definitely be given this past week. I'm gonna temp tomorrow if I wake up around normal temping time and see how it looks. That's only happened once before but I suppose it's always possible...

Well I just went back and took another look at that Wondfo. There is definitely something there now. I don't know what to think.
(Sorry for the terrible photo - I don't know how all you bees take such clear photos of squinter HPTs, it's so hard to find good lighting without shadows.)

@PawPrints: how much longer did you look? Could be an evap... Can you test with a frer?

@LindsayInNY: was there color at all on the OPK? Or was it stark white?

@PawPrints: hell yes that is a line. CONGRATS!!!!
ETA: assuming the pic was taken within time frame. I see pink coloring on that line.
pomegranate / 3658 posts
@CupQuakeWalk: @Crystal: It was like 25 minutes later. Do evap lines have pink coloring? It definitely looks a little bit pink.
I have a couple of digital tests in the cabinet, but no FRERs. Also I am out of urine. I guess I'll test again in the morning.
coconut / 8475 posts
@PawPrints: oh damn, 25 minutes later. I do see pink but just to be 100% sure, I'd take a digi, like you said. Good luck:)

@PawPrints: That looks like mine from my second pregnancy, where the line showed up a little late. I was definitely pregnant then, so fingers crossed that it's good news for you too!!!!

@Torchwood: @AmeliaBedilia: @CupQuakeWalk: @Crystal: Thank you guys I'm not getting my hopes up but it's nice to think it might be possible. I'll be sure to update in the morning.

@PawPrints: FX for you!!!! If you see a color to the line, that's definitely a good sign.
