@Mrs.Lilac: I just had the same Clearblue OPK drama happen to me that we were chatting about a few days ago!! I have both the regular Clearblue Digital (that shows just low and peak, that I get for free for a research study), but I also have the advanced which shows low, high, and peak. They have worked well for me the last few cycles. But today I started testing for this cycle (CD9), and I thought the holders would recognize it was a new cycle because the instructions say it starts a new cycle after it's been unused for 3 days (it's been over 3 weeks since I got my peak for last cycle). But I got a PEAK reading on BOTH of them. What?! I expected to see a low reading since it was the first day of a new cycle and that's what they're programmed to do. So confused. Will call them soon I think!

Thanks everyone! @snowjewelz: that's what my DH said yesterday... "it only takes one time, right?" Good point
The unknown is just driving me crazy today. I started using the FF app last cycle, and I started spotting CD24 & 25, with my period arriving the next day on March 9th. That period lasted 6 days, with 2 days of spotting at the end too (10 total days of blood - 2 pre-period light brown/pink spotting, 6 days of red bleeding, 2 days of post-period light brown/pink spotting -- sorry that's so graphic and detailed, haha!) It was different than my usual period - I often spot for 2 days beforehand, but then it's a short period and never any spotting after the fact.
So I was spotting into CD8, and FF marked CD9-12 as my most fertile days, with CD12 the predicted O. Now it's CD16 and I have a lot of twinging/cramping, which is unusual for me. Of course I know it's way too early for preg symptoms, so I'm actually worried I'm ovulating right now. Or maybe it's just thanks to the black beans in my tacos last night

Hi ladies! Love catching up on all these posts, so much happy, positive energy bouncing around this thread so far. I am in the midst of the move stress (good, but still stress....) and of course this is my predicted O week! I'm feeling gross, unattractive (take out and not as much time as normal for workouts), naggy, annoyed at DH for making me take the lion's share of all this, guilty for feeling annoyed at him, and then on top of that....we are supposed to BD all.the.time. this week!? He's been a good sport and vaguely up for it, which I appreciate, but I know neither of us are super feelin' it. Any tips, advice, commiseration, etc. for what to do when you're TTC and just not sexy? Ugh.

@Kbee: that is soooo annoying for you. I'm still confused about this cycle for me. It just doesn't seem right that it was peak so early in my cycle like you, when I have been, to the day, regular the other cycles... It's either clearblue messing up or my body being odd. I hope you get an answer. Let me know if you do!

@Mrs.Lilac: I actually never ended up calling. I looked at the lines on both sticks and noticed how dark they were, then later it occurred to me that OPK tests can pick up HCG. So I took a FRER and the test line came up within seconds! So, kind of a bizarre story, since I thought I really had my AF last week, but I guess it was just bleeding. Staying cautiously optimistic for now! I hope that you can get things sorted out. Have you still been using the tests?

@Adira: in my case god is probably like "who are you?" Haha but it can't hurt. I'll pray and chant and meditate and do whatever I can.

@MrsMccarthy: For me, he's probably like "You again?? You only pray when you need something. Bugger off!"
persimmon / 1096 posts
@Adira: Hahahaha, me too. I actually usually start off a prayer thinking something along the lines of "Sorry we only talk when I'm asking for something, but..."
apricot / 348 posts
@Kbee: such amazing news!!! So amazing that you didn't know and thought you were out and bam! You're KU!!! Woohoo.
I didn't take any more tests after it said I was positive on that first day. No actually, it said I wasn't the next day which is what confused me in the first place. No idea what was going on there. When I heard you story I was like, oooh maybe I'm pregnant too but I had a totally normal AF this month so that really would be a miracle (oh and the fact that the OPK was negative the next day lol)

@MrsMccarthy: @Adira: @keepcalmcarrie: This month, I definitely did more prayer. I did while I was walking my dog at night, then right before bed. We also started going to church again (we had been bad about it recently). And this is the month I got my BFP! not saying they're definitely related, but I think if anything, it helped me relax a bit, get centered, and focus on my mental status. Whatever you can do to take time for yourself!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@keepcalmcarrie: hahaha, I've done that!!
@theotherstark: I do think that relaxing/meditating could be part of it! The cycle I got my BFP, the "praying" really sort of made me feel really zen. And who knows if that helped or not, but it might've played a part!

@theotherstark: we've been looking for a church the past month since we hadn't been going the past two years we've been moving and getting settled. We found one we loved, and on the first visit yesterday I was ready to join! Of course, I want to go a few more times to make sure, but I felt an overwhelming feeling like this was our new church home! I also put in a prayer request for ttc.
pomegranate / 3045 posts
@Adira: You never know!
@dc yoga bee: That's awesome - I love finding churches that just click with you. We've bounced around a lot to various cities the past 5 or so years, so it's been hard not having a regular church that we go to. I don't love the church we're at now, but it's super close, and is fine I was spoiled and really loved the church I grew up going to, so it's hard comparing them! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for your BFP this month!

Good morning sweet ladies! Just checking in with you all. Baby boy and I are both sick and miserable right now. We are still night weaning but with a modified schedule because he is refusing to eat much else and I want to get him better. I forgot how horrible a sore throat can be. Gonna be a lot of DVDs and medicines to get us through since my husband is gonna be out of town. I'm so excited that we could have April BFPs starting at the end of this week.

Hey y'all. I think I'll be joining you this month
DH and I are still technically NTNP...but I'm in my second cycle post MC and I could NOT figure out what's going on with my body (I had some really strange mid-cycle bleeding/CF) so I broke down and bought OPKs to see if I was or was not Oing (I have a history of PCOS and was worried about falling back into not ovulating after my hormones were out of whack from the MC)
Well, I'm pretty sure I got a + OPK yesterday and we BDed last night so... I think that puts me in my first TWW!
I haven't had a temp shift yet so I'm waiting for that to confirm I ovulated.
Cycle day 15
Cycle # 2 i guess? (we've been NTNP for two years, weren't trying when I got the first BFP. This is cycle 2 post MC)
Ovulation & POAS dates I'm pretty sure O is today.
April 8 will be POAS day.
But I have a follow up U/S with my gyno because I had huge cysts during my pregnancy...so I'm considering waiting until I see them. They test on every visit.
Baby # 1
Your game plan this month Wait and see
I'm not sure how to link, so I'll just post pics of the OPKs from yesterday and today, and of my chart so far.

Trying to decide whether to join in or not. I've been having a long, kinda mysterious post-Mirena cycle with multiple apparent false starts at ovulation.
Got a really strong, dark positive this morning on my OPK -- maybe this egg will manage to bust out and successfully ovulate?
Sweetie and I had been leaning towards TTA a December due date...but...now that I'm looking at the OPK, I kinda want to go for it.
Was a December due month an influencing factor for you? How did you decide?
pomegranate / 3045 posts
@LIL BEAN: Thank you!
@MaryM: Woohooo!!! Love those dark OPKs
@lilyofthewest: This cycle gave me an early enough DD in December that I wasn't too concerned (around Dec. 4), so it didn't really influence us! Awesome about your positive OPK!! Hope that egg gets out this time!
nectarine / 2079 posts
@lilyofthewest: We are skipping this cycle because of a late December due date. DD is an early Dec baby and it works out fine (though not what I would pick). I really don't want a LO with a birthday completely overshadowed by Christmas. I am also hoping this cycle will be a reset of sorts and let me get to know my cycle a little better without TTC pressures.
pomelo / 5129 posts
@theotherstark: Thanks for confirming they're dark! I'd never used them before so I was scratching my head a little (especially with the first one).
@lilyofthewest As for a Dec. due date, after our MC, DH said "Everything happens for a reason"
So I turned it around and said that would also apply to when/if I got pregnant again. I haven't thought too much about due dates (other than noticing it'd be super convenient that I can finish all my grad classes except my thesis by december)
nectarine / 2053 posts
@lilyofthewest: We're not crazy about the idea of a late December baby- but December baby is better than no baby. So we're still trying!
pomelo / 5129 posts
In some ways, I love the idea of a december baby.
We get at least a week off from work between Christmas and New Years, so I'd love to be able to use that to extend maternity leave without having to take vacation days.
pear / 1697 posts
@Marym: Yeah, I've been eyeing the holiday density of Dec, Jan, Feb....it would mean about a week of holiday "freebie" paid parental leave that I wouldn't have with any other due month.
pear / 1697 posts
At least not unless I wanted to wait most of a year (no!) to aim for a just before Thanksgiving baby.
grapefruit / 4770 posts
@lilyofthewest: Before ttc, we both said we would skip March, to avoid a December birthday. Now that this is month 5, we aren't skipping any months! Bowling parties, or something for birthdays!?! Lol
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@theotherstark: glad to hear you found a church that's a good fit for you! I hope you find a good community to worship and grow in!
I will not stop trying even tho I don't want a Dec-Feb baby! It would be tough if I'm still trying a few months from now...

@keepcalmcarrie: That's actually amazing timing! I just got my BFP, and we only got O-7. Not entirely sure how that works, but I'll roll with it I'll send happy thoughts your way haha
@marym: You definitely got two positive OPKs! That's such a good feeling.. I feel like until you get those really dark ones, you spend the whole time looking at the not quite positive ones wondering "Is this one positive?" You'll probably get a temp spike in the next day or two, and then your crosshairs three days after that, so yay!!! Happy TWW

I don't mind the thought of a December baby. I can just see super cute newborn pics with baby dressed all Christmassy! How cute would that be! Also, there is no way I want to skip a month. I really don't want a summer baby as they will be the youngest in their class which ideally I'd like to avoid.

Big congrats to @theotherstark: & @Kbee: !! So awesome to see the March board finally light up with BFP's!
We haven't discussed the fact that our EDD would be uber close to Christmas, yet... like Dec 20. I def think it will be different compared to a birthday away from Xmas, but we will do our best to make it special. A friend had her 2nd on Xmas eve this past Dec, so I'd probably get some pointers from her.

April is creeping up ladies!! I get to start OPKin tomorrow! Squee! Feeling good this cycle! Im crossing my fingers and toes for EVERYBODY!! You know this cycle is going to be good when we arent even in April yet and we already have a couple of BFP!!
Yay! @Kbee and @theotherstark

I just want to get pregnant! I do feel for our baby having to share a birthday with such a big holiday but I'm sure we can and will find a way to make it special. Also I know this is funny to say but my EDD should be around December 27 for this month and I went late with my son. I was dying for him to come on or around his due date. With this baby I can always have the silver lining of delivering after Xmas if I go late but if I go early that means I get to be one of the early ones (healthy early that is, nothing drastic)

Ugh, my battery died and I had to wait 2hrs on the tow truck to give me a jump, and it's snowing and cold. Today is CD 11, I'm supposed to bd tonight after all that!
What cd do you ladies start bd'ing?
cherry / 173 posts
@dc yoga bee: I think we will start BDing CD14 (03/30/14), I usually dont O until CD17 (04/02/14)... but since my cycle has been regulating post MC it could be earlier... I will have to see what my OPK/CBE advanced says.
pomelo / 5129 posts
I think the timing of BDing is the one part of TTC that makes me still say DH and I are "NTNP"
DH works odd hours (lots of evenings) so we BD whenever we can! We haven't exactly been able to plan it since some nights he's not home until 4 or 5 a.m.
BDing last night on CD 14 wasn't exactly on purpose, but I won't be upset if it was perfect timing!
grapefruit / 4770 posts
@Brawly: @MaryM: I usually O on CD 17, and just got word DH has to go out of town suddenly, and is flying gout tomorrow morning at 6! We will BD today CD 11, but will miss 12 and 13. I hope 14-17 will be enough!
cherry / 173 posts
@dc yoga bee: Have you tried using the instead soft cups? Both times I have gotten pregnant I used them and got KU with in 3 cycles... this will be my third cycle this time too... so I'm crossing fingers! I think it helps give the sperm that extra push for when you or your significant other are traveling or... @marym working late.
grapefruit / 4770 posts
@Brawly: Stupid question, but is that like a menstrual cup you leave inside? I worry about getting an UTI or something!
honeydew / 7295 posts
@dc yoga bee: I usually ovulate cd 17. I try to start EOD on cd12 in case we ovulate early but I think you will be perfectly covered with cd-14 on. Cheering you on honey!
@Brawly: are the cups easy to insert and how long do you keep them in? Also when do you insert them? Like do you have one at the ready and pop it in afterwards or do you get up? I am willing to try any and everything this month.
