I've noticed a lot of our friends and family's have been using the two letters interchangeably, mostly with the start letter. DO you think they are interchangeable? for me I don't' mind it but it does remind me of the Kardashians and I'm not a fan of them.

It doesn't bother me, but funny story. My middle name is Caitlin, but when I was born the hospital wrote it as Kaitlin instead, and my parents had it legally changed when I was a few months old!

I guess it depends on the name. Kolby for a Colby is not my favorite, but something like Christy/Kristie/Kristy, etc I guess I don't mind.

I don't like that, b/c DD's name starts with a K and it's a totally diff name (to me) if it was a C!

My daughter's middle name is typically seen with a K but we spelled it with a C because it is a lesser used alternate spelling which followed DHs mom's spelling of her first half of her name. (We combined it with my mom's last half of her name. Yes, it is a real name!

Depends on the name. Katherine/Catherine is ok. Kora or Karoline is a no.

Depends on the name. Sometimes it's cultural, like in the case of Konrad/Conrad, Carolina/Karolina.

Totally depends on the name. There are so many names that would look really weird with a c instead of a k or vice versa (like Kevin, Kelly, Christopher, Clara, Caroline...)

Maybe. My name starts with a K, and I don't think it would look right with a C. But, other names could work.

I think it depends on the name. Some names both spellings are normal. Other names, it would just look weird and misspelled.

I was pregnant with my first at the same time Kim K was and I was totally paranoid she was going to use our girl name but spell it Klara.

Only in names that traditionally go either way (e.g. Catherine/Katherine). Otherwise NO.

@SugarplumsMom: we spell our son Lukas because I'm 1/2 Swedish and that's the traditional spelling there. I wanted that cultural connection. I'm sure people think I did it just to spell it uniquely but not so!

Nope, nope, nope.
There are only a few names that SHOULD start with K, like Katie, Katrina, Kim, etc.
But like the whole Konrad, Khloe, Kora, Kourtney, Konnor thing.... I am not a fan.

Depends on the name. My best friend from childhood is Keri, but Ceri doesn't work. Lol

It annoys me in names that haven't traditionally been spelled either way. Like I far prefer Michaela over Makayla or something... If you're going to make up a spelling, you might as well make up the name entirely. I just don't see the point of taking a relatively common name and spelling it oddly, like that makes it more unique.

@simplyfelicity: no she doesnt. I've asked her and she says she doesn't know why she spells Katie with a k she just does. We've been friends since preschool and she's always gone by Katie with a k but it makes so little sense. I just don't understand.

Some names have had two spellings because of their language backgrounds, so traditional differences don't bother me.

I've never thought twice about it. If someone likes to spell it a different way, cool. Doesn't really impact me.

I do know a few Krises but I don't know if they are Kristophers or Kristians or just plain Kris.

Katherine/Kate/Katie/Kathy
Catherine/Cate/Catie/CathyBut Jack is also a nickname for John, so you never know.

@travellingbee: Perfect example! My other favorite is Jakob. Before I moved to Sweden, I would have thought that using a K was a either a statement or a cultural thing. But it's actually the correct and traditional spelling in some countries.

I like traditional spellings so if someone tries to make it "different" by changing a letter it annoys me.
