@Mrs.Chalk Costco with a two year old is great if they are anything like my boys. They love samples!
Since Costco is one of the easiest places to go with twins and a newborn (big double cart) I am there about once a week. We buy our wipes there (costco brand) organic milk, yogurt, eggs, carter's brand clothes, and countless other stuff. When I supplemented with formula for my boys I used the Costco version of Similac.

We used to be Costco members before we had kids. I knew it was a mistake when we'd leave having spent $200+ on I don't even know what. It's useful for parties but we won't be joining anytime soon.

We are Costco members but I wish we lied closer to a Sams.. Living social just had a really great deal on a $45 membership plus $20 gc and food vouchers, and unlike Costco Sams sells pampers and butt paste and our brand of formula! (I went with someone else before but that was in another state so I'm not sure if its the same where I live.)
Otherwise I have always liked Costco.

We finally got a Costco membership after just going with dh's mom for the longest time! I love Costco!

We aren't members of either, but we tag along to both when family members go (how cheap are we). Costco is 40 min away so it's not practical to have a membership.

we are costco members and don't use it too often [mostly just bulk TP / paper towels / coffee cups] but its worth it for me just to buy my contact lenses there! last year I got tons of random rebates and barely had to pay anything. I may have to try the wipes and other baby stuff after LO is here!

We are Costco members. DH gets a discount with his work and eats a lot of chicken so it really pays off.
@T-Mom: We do similar. My mom looks just like me so I take her with my membership. Oops!

Both Costco and BJ's are literally in walking distance!! We used to belong to BJ's for the Pampers (Costco only carries Huggies and Kirkland brand) but we let that membership run out and didn't renew it. The deals are just not as good as Costco.
We are at Costco at least once a week. And we go purely for the food court at least once a week outside of our regular Costco trip. We only have to buy a few things at the grocery store-- produce (the bulk produce is just too much for us), Lactaid milk (Costco just started carrying this but they only have 2%), my caramel macchiato coffee creamer, dog treats (Costco only carries them for Large dogs), and a few more odds and ends. Everything else we purchase at Costco.

Love Costco! We also have a membership card to BJ's (FIL had an extra card for us) but rarely ever go even though it's closer. I enjoy shopping experience at Costco more. When DH and I were poor, we would go there a few times a week to browse around and enjoy samples. Rarely would we walk out with anything, but it was so much fun to aisle shop.

@katyh: this is good to know because we just got the coupons for the month and wipes are onsale.
I wonder has anyone bought their diapers?

Costco!!! Love it...
@mrbee: you should look into Costco Delivery..i know the deliver out here...but not sure if there is a fee for it, or a minimum...

I love Costco! We live super close to ours so we're there at least once a week. We regularly buy eggs, sparkling water, and cheese. I always check out their books for LO...we got 16 Sandra Boyntom books for $3/book...LO has so many books that she loves thanks to Costco!

We love Costco so much we still used it in NYC without a car! The East Harlem one was most convenient and had a car service lined up outside.
I watched a documentary on Costco on MSNBC last month... They key to really saving money there is not impulse shopping! I guess that's a good rule anywhere you shop, but most especially at Costco.

@Meridian: The Costco Amex TrueEarnings card is free with membership. You earn 3% on gas, 2% on restaurants/travel and 1% on everything else (including Costco).
If your Costco sells gas, its TOTALLY worth it... you'll earn 3% on gas plus gas is way cheaper at Costco.
@mrbee: If you dine out a lot at places that take Amex or can use the travel cash back, it might be worth it to get this card and then use Costco.com for delivery! (I'm assuming you don't buy a lot of gas )
I'm a huge, huge fan of Costco! I live really close to one that has a gas station so I get my membership fee's worth just in gas savings alone.

We're Costco members. We do usually spend more than we plan to, but when I've priced it out, we're still saving $ in the end. We go to Trader Joe's once or twice a week & Costco every 2-3 wks, and that's most of our grocery shopping. We get dog food, laundry/dishwasher detergent, flushable wipes, and food staples at Costco. It's awesome when you need to feed a crowd, and they have an excellent selection and excellent pricing on organic foods.

We have a Sams right next to us and it seems like it is just a bunch of junk food. Not a fan. I would be willing to drive the extra 15 minutes for Costco but we don't need it just yet. Soon I am sure that will change!

Costco! The giant bags of organic brown rice saved me in my first trimester. We don't do all of our shopping there, but it's great for some of our staples.

Love Costco. We have a membership. There is one so close to work, so I go on my lunch break for non perishables. We go at least once/twice month.

Costco. We do almost all our shopping there. However, we have a basement with ample storage.

We love Costco! We don't buy a ton there yet because its just the two of us, but we go a couple times a month and always find some great deals. I always buy books there. We have made some big purchases there that we have been very happy with like living room furniture and our bathroom vanity. I love the free food samples, that's the best part!

We belong to sam's and my mom belongs to Costco so we go on shopping trips together. Here the savings in gas alone is enough to make it worth the cost of membership.
pomegranate / 3521 posts
Costco.. I had a serious addiction. I let my membership lapse this year because it was unnecessary for just the two of us. Of course if we only bought what we "needed" there, we would be fine but I couldn't walk out of there without spending $400. It was a problem

Nope, I figure we don't miss what we don't know. We also don't have a ton of space for storage, more stuff in our house may kill my husband!

We are members if Sam's. DH uses it more because he buys snacks for a shop at work. But, we both really like it.
nectarine / 2631 posts
costco! and BJ's (cuz its right up the road and they have discounted gas!)
apricot / 340 posts
We're Costco members. We go there fairly often.
My friend, who lived in Japan, also didn't have a car, but would still order stuff from Costco for delivery. Not sure if the selection online is the same in-store though.
