Yeah, I'm pretty picky.
It's going to be hard getting my kids to eat if I'm picky, too.

Yup. I'm very picky. It's something I hope to try really hard to not pass onto my kids.

I used to be, but I discovered real food at 20 and haven't looked back!

People think I am, but I don't think I am. I only dislike a couple of vegetables (okra, eggplant, zuchinni). I eat basically everything else.

@Boogs: I'll try different foods but I won't finish it. It's bad. It could be really tasty but I just can't finish eating it not at one sitting. I usually always take home leftovers.

I'm not very picky...I will try almost anything and enjoy all types of food.

yes=( i wish i wasn't. i've always been sensitive about food. when i was little, if i was told i had to eat something i didn't like, i would end up throwing up. now, i'd rather go hungry than eat something i don't want. i also don't like to try new foods in front of people, too much pressure to like it. i need to be in a place where it's ok to try it and reject it if i don't want to have anymore of it. i guess i've got issues =D

i use to be a really picky eater until i met the hubs, and things changed...i have a new love of trying new things...

I am but it's mostly because I have a bunch of food allergies. I also tend to eat really healthy so I don't eat a lot of things (fried food, dessert, etc).

Nope. I'll eat anything (as long as it isn't slimy and nasty)

I'm a very picky eater. I avoid most foods that are white. Strange, yes.

@Boogs: I love leftovers, too. It usually tastes better when I take it home.

No. I love food! There are only a couple things I won't eat.

I always want to say I'm not, but I am. I won't touch most seafood, with the exception of a very few types of fish (usually tilapia and salmon), and then I have to be in the right mood for them. The thought of shellfish makes me gag. I can't stand avocado or olives, and don't like sour or tart fruits (like grapes or green apples--unless the apples are in pie form). I do like foods with lemon in them, though.

I love food and don't consider myself to be picky at all. There are a few common foods that I don't eat though and people think it's weird...like fresh tomatoes or raw onion.
GOLD / wonderful pea / 17697 posts
@Sweet T: I'm not a big fan of raw onion either, unless it's in fresh salsa.
squash / 13764 posts
Nope, I will try almost anything except organ meat type stuff. I will be really sad if our kids are picky eaters!
GOLD / eggplant / 11517 posts
Not at all. Allergies are one thing, but otherwise there's no reason not to try new foods. They usually taste good and broaden your horizons.
GOLD / squash / 13464 posts
I am. And I hate it. Its annoying for me and I know it's annoying to others around me even if they don't say so. I always feel like a child when I have to say I don't like to eat something. But despite trying to expand my horizons there are some things I'll just never like, like shellfish. It will be a serious goal of mine to be sure our children are exposed to a wide variety of foods from a young age so they hopefully won't be picky.
wonderful olive / 19353 posts
Nope! I eat pretty much everything or am open to trying everything at least once!

i eat most everything, but i'm picky in the sense that i don't like eating the same thing often. i like variety!
hostess / wonderful apple seed / 16729 posts
@MamaMoose: OMG, that's how I feel. I wonder what my coworkers think when I dont finish my food. We have been out so many times and I never manage to finish my food. I wonder if they think I'm wasteful when we have lunch catererd on-site and I try a bite and don't like it and end up throwing it away.
As for my parents, they will eat everything and usually clean their plate.

I'm a very picky eater My parents hated it while I was growing up. My mom always said I eat like a bird. Now that I have control over what's on the table, I no longer eat like a bird, unless you count vultures and those kinds of birds that swallow their prey whole.
This has been a huge challenge for us since it's hard to get Wagon Jr. to eat veggies. After all, why should he eat it if Mommy won't eat it? It's also tough to keep fruits and veggies in the house that I don't like or I'm allergic to. Every fruit he eats is one that I'm not allergic to (bananas, apples, grapes) because I know that if he doesn't finish them before they go bad, at least I can eat them. It's also just tough to purchase things when you know you yourself will never consume it!
I need to eat more veggies so Wagon Jr. will eat more Wagon Sr. will eat ANYTHING. He loves all food. So if our kids are picky, it's 100% my fault!!!

I am. I've been ordering things that I don't like if I share with LO so she'll eat more things. Like I used to ask for my sandwiches plain, but now I'll ask for them with everything on them and pick the stuff off and give it to her. That's how I found out she has a love for tomatoes, which I hate.
