Both DH & I are planners while neither in our families are and it drives us bonkers sometime!
Anyway, we were invited last minute to a birthday party this Saturday at 5 or 6pm. They don't know yet?!
Turns out they have no reservations but they've invited all these people. On a Saturday night. To a popular restaurant. Um. Yeah. Good luck with that. I better pack some food for LO!

I am a super planner, DH not so much. I like organization he likes go with the flow. Nothing drives me more bonkers than those who dont' have a concrete plan!

Um, YES I totally am. I always want to know what is going on a week in advance. I have some friends who refuse to make plans ahead of time or the finalize details of plans (like we were invited to a game night on Friday, but they have not yet decided what time it will be or if we should eat dinner beforehand). It annoys me. I do my grocery shopping on Sunday so I sorted would have liked to know by then if I needed to buy stuff for dinner Fri!

Yeah, I'm a planner. But DH is not. Neither is his family, except for one of his brothers. It's funny to try and see his brother plan detailed itineraries for us and then have half of them get changed due to somone being late or something else happening spontaneously. It also results in lots of high priced air travel for us due to last minute plans from the in-laws! I'm learning to let go, haha.

Yes, we are a family of planners, we are project managers! My husband will do a full on plan for our vacations and I do excel spreadsheet packing lists.

@locavore_mama: YES. It drives me bonkers when people don't plan properly. I went to a bachelorette party a couple months ago. The hosts sent out an evite a week and a half before the day of the party. It was going to be held at a restaurant where they "said" they had reservations. The restaurant has been closed for 8 months. Two nights before the party, they emailed everyone and changed the restaurant. Then, the day of, they changed it again! We got there at the appointed time (7pm) and were told that no one made a reservation and we would have to wait until 9 to get a table for our big group.
OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG. My head exploded.

@mediagirl: That is my pet peeeeeeve. I spend most of my work days booking parties and groups for facilities and it's surprising how many people call a week or even a day ahead for a shower and try and get in.
"What? It's booked?"
"Yes, it has been for a solid 4 months now."
I booked a facility for my baby shower the day I found out I was pregnant. Everyone laughed at me but now I'm way ahead of schedule.

I am the planner. My husband not so much. He doesn't even tell his family when he comes to town. Yet, laments people don't have time to see him.

@mediagirl: Seriously? That is rude to the guests attending, rude to the restaurant they wanted to go to and RUDE to the BRIDE! I would have been pissed if I was attending that, and I would have been really hurt if I was the bride and found out that my friends 'planning' the get together didn't care enough to actually, you know, plan it.
From that response, you can probably guess I'm a planner 
Lists of lists, plans made well-ahead of time. And you know what? I'm always more calm, and usually things turn out as I imagined. DH is more laid back but allows me to take the reigns and has seen that it works out for the better

DH is the farthest thing from a planner. To the point where I asked him to come have lunch with me next week and he won't even commit to that. I like to have a general plan, but don't mind some spontaneity when the time is right for it.
This is one of the reasons why DH was hesitant about having kids and still is. I know we'll probably butt heads about this, but DH is already understanding that kids means not flying by the seat of your pants anymore...

Yes! Been trying to plan the holidays with the inlaws and they have no interest in discussing plans yet. Makes my planner personality crazy!

yes! we, especially DH, hates when people don't make plans. his family is notorious for saying "this weekend...we'll figure out details later" sorry, but that doesn't work for us!

Like, I told DH I want to sit down and put all our Christmas activites on the calendar now so that we know when we have to do something. He is notorious for springing things on me.

I'm in the middle. I like to leave options open but I'd never let something big slide or go unplanned, especially when other people are involved! In those situations I tend to OVER plan because I'm worried others want structure.
Funny since I work in event coordination you'd think I'd be much more type A about planning....

I am the opposite of a planner. Not that I'm disorganized, but I'm not a list person. Granted, I wouldn't ever let a huge event slide or anything, but I'm just not a planner. At all. And my husband is worse, lol.
For example, vacation planning is just buying a ticket and (maybe) reserving a hotel in advance. I don't plan what sites I want to see, or where I want to eat, or anything like that. I just....go with the flow.
It doesn't work for everyone, but it works for me!
