I got an email from day care and they are looking for 2 Mom/Dad's to be the room Mom/Dad for the year. So I volunteered. Hopefully I don't regret it!

DS's daycare doesn't have room mom, but I'd love to be one when he's older at grade school.

@cheert16: Organizes the class parties (holidays, etc), gifts for the teacher (teacher appreciation, birthdays), and keeps all the parents informed of upcoming events.

Yup; I am our Parent Rep (room mom)!
It’s not a lot of work – I go to meetings once a month, and send out an email to all the parents in our room a few days before the meeting to gather any questions / praise / complaints they have, or anything they want me to bring up at the meeting.
I also help collect $ for teacher gifts and organize the teacher’s appreciation week activities. There were a lot of activities this year for TA week (like 1-2 per day!); but it still wasn’t a ton of work.

Nope, they have 5 seasonal parties that the room parent needs to coordinate, and I just don't have that kind of time. I will participate, but I can't do all the coordination efforts.

I'm not, but I'm always super involved in D's class. I'm not good at planning, but I love helping.
