After hearing @Ms.Badgers incredible story I just registered myself and DD as organ and tissue donors. In Ontario you can do it online in 2 minutes at http://www.beadonor.ca it was super easy!

Yes!!! It's one of the only things I'm positive about when it comes to my own passing.

I am a registered donor upon my passing, and I am also registered to be a bone marrow donor.

@MaisyMay: @Brassgiraffe: they often have clinics for that at our local hospital. I guess it's just a matter of getting a mouth swab and signing something and your in? So easy! I have to go!

@prettylizy: I just did a mouth swab at a church drive several years ago. That and filling out paperwork and you are good to go.

Yep!
I wanted to donate anything from S, but it wasn't possible, giving the circumstances.

Yup! Organ donor and I'm a registered bone marrow donor, too.
If anyone is interested, you can sign up at bethematch.org
Particular, they are always looking for minorities (Asians, Latino, African Americans) to join. In the registry, they said only 7% classify themselves as as Asian, 10% are Latino/Hispanic and 7% are African American.
I know bone marrow donation can be painful but I figure people with cancer have been through a lot more pain than I will ever be. I think I can be sore for a few days to help save a person's life.
It's really easy to register. Go to the site and they send you a kit with a cotton swab. Ship it off and you are now entered. You don't do any invasive procedures until a match is found. Which could be years to find a match.
I'm still waiting for call to save someone's life.
