No. I talk to one of my brothers occasionally on FB, and my stepsister via text sometimes. I'm really close to D's siblings and their wives, and to a stepbrother's soon to be ex-wife.

I only have 1 sister, I would say we are closer now than we were as kids. She's almost 7 years older so as I was growing up she was moving out. Now she has kids and that brought us closer.

Hubs' brother is close in age and close in distance but he never makes an effort, so we really don't see him.

No. We never were when we were younger because we are 8 years apart. In my early 20s my brother moved to my city though and we got a lot closer. We did dinner out at least once a month and actually hung out, it was so nice! But then he met his wife and that basically all ended. Now we just see each other at holidays, even though he lives like 10 min from me. Such a bummer.

ETA: My husband and his sister are much closer in age (2 years) but are also not super close. They didn't grow up together (parents got divorced at age 8 and they lived with different parents), and neither of them are phone people. They get along but basically only talk/see each other at Christmas.

Not really. I have one sister and four brothers, although I've gotten closer to my sister and older brother since having kids.

I think I am close to all my family. But I talk to my sister more then my brother.

I have 4 sisters, and there is always some sort of drama. Once we had kids things changed quite a bit. Now we get together often so that our kids can play and spend time together.

@chopsuey: do you mind me asking why you're close to one but not the other? is it an age gap thing, personality thing?...

I'm the oldest of 8. I'm close with the sister and brother (at my mom's house) that I lived with while growing up. My dad's kids are all younger (10-22 year age gap) and we're not really close at all.

Yes, though we were closer when we all lived nearby. Now I am at least 1000 miles from my siblings (2000, and 3000 with two of them). I miss them terrible but keep up with them on IG and FB and we facetime a lot.

My sisters and I are as close as we can be for the distance between us (Orlando FL, Salt Lake City UT, and Armenia.) I can't imagine life without them.

DH has 4 siblings (3 brothers and a sister) and I don't think he would be upset if he never talked to them again, really. Definitely true of his sister- he is resentful of her from how they grew up (only girl, being spoiled.) He's not close with his brothers either. He would never hang out with them outside of family functions. It's so crazy for me to see how differently we feel about our siblings. (He didn't want them in his wedding and I let him pick LO's godfather and he chose a friend, while her godmother is my sister.)

I ahve 2 sisters, we are close but I feel like they are closer with each other. I've always kind of been the black sheep of the group. They both married high school sweethearts and settled down very young. I was the life of the party in college & dated & didn't settle down until my mid 20s and I think they resented that a little, that I experienced more?

I think now that I have a child we are closer because we have something in common in being moms.

1 younger brother who is exactly 4 years younger than me. We're not close at all. We act as if we're not even related.

Me and my 2 younger cousins - BFFs!! We grew up like siblings though. One is 6 years younger and the other is 12 years younger. I'm closer to the one that's 12 years younger.

My sister is 7 years younger, we were very close at one point, when she was in HS and I was in college. Not we're still close but not as close as we used to be... Chalk it up to very different life stages maybe? And our personalities are very different too.

Yep! I have 1 sister 2 brothers. I either see them or text them everyday.
