Canada just celebrated Canada's birthday and the US has a holiday tomorrow. I'm wondering how big you all are on holidays. Do you dress up, do holiday-appropriate activities?
We don't - just Thanksgiving and Christmas are big ones for us!

We will have a family BBQ for the 4th of July. We get together for most holidays but especially Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. We also do Passover for my FIL.

Yes! I love any excuse to get together with friends and family. I also enjoy eating copious amounts of food.

Yes!! We would have a cook out & play yard games tomorrow, but there's a hurricane coming through... booo! We're just eating in and playing board games instead.

Nope, we're not really big on any dates, holiday, birthdays, anniversary...

We're getting together with family tomorrow for a BBQ at our lake cabin and, if we didn't have DS, would probably go watch fireworks but that's about it! Nothing over the top.
I love that holidays are a great excuse for family and food!

I love any excuse to get people together and any excuse to use/make cute party decor, but I don't go crazy for every holiday.

I would have to say yes. Of course, Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter are big ones for us. However, I just like celebrating. So, I always have at least one themed outfit for LO, decorations (when I have time to put them up), and activities sometimes.

Not really. DH is an emergency services worker so most of the time that the rest of the world is congregating places, he has to work, so we do our own smaller thing on our own on an alternate date for the major holidays and don't often participate in the peripheral holidays.

@PurplePumps: same here. We don't get into celebrating much of anything.

I don't mind holidays but they are not that important to me. They seem very important to my mom though, which annoys me because I feel pressured to emphasize them more than I care to.

Yes! I celebrate having the entire day off work and with J, I try to always plan something festive and fun for him.
My parents weren't really into holidays and I remember how boring it was just hanging around the house with them. Most of my friends went away or had family parties for summer holidays.

Just depends on the holiday. I love dressing R up for most holidays!

Yes, I love it. Though living outside of the US makes it hard to celebrate certain ones (4th of July, Thanksgiving.) But we do our best. We're having a BBQ tomorrow (Saturday) since everyone is working today, on the 4th! (I don't, however, love all the prep that goes into having a party!)

I feel like I'm pretty much the same size on holidays as I am every other day of the year.
(I'll see myself out now.

@OsoInGreenAndGold: LOL!! Ooooh, I see what you did there
I love holidays that involve getting together with family and friends to celebrate. Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving, New Years, the big ones.

It depends on the holiday. The big, special ones, yes...Thanksgiving and Christmas especially. The smaller ones, I could go either way...I don't go all out or dress up or anything, but if someone is holding a get-together I look forward to it. And I always appreciate the time off work!!
