We had a small tree last year with glass ornaments, and several broke. Since we have two kids this year, I'm wondering if I should get all felt ornaments. So pricey to buy all new ornaments though!
Are you buying new ornaments? From where? (Pottery Barn, Crate and Barrel, Land of Nod and Ikea are my picks!)

Ours are all felt or plastic. I plan on buying some new ones this year though. I feel like we need more! Our tree looked a little too bare last year. I'll probably make some of them myself.

we bought a couple new ones for LO for our mini keepsake tree. our main tree by the fireplace has a matching set that we probably won't be replacing for years!

Yes! We buy a couple new ornaments every year. I picked up two during my travels this fall, one from the Bahamas and one in North Carolina. We got some really cute glass ones at Pier One last year. We'll probably go there again.

I'm Jewish so I don't have a tree, but I made my sil a felt ornament. Maybe you could have Charlie make some.

I'm holding off on buying anything b/c I think my in-laws will probably get some "baby's 1st Christmas" type things for our tree. Plus, I'm Jewish so I'd rather they have the opportunity to pick stuff out that means something to them rather than me just getting something that's cute.

@artbee: I was going to suggest that as well! I love homemade ornaments, my mom still has a ton that we made when we were kids.
Pinterest/google will give you some awesome ideas for cheap but cute ornaments! We buy a couple special ornaments every year, this year was "Baby's First Christmas"

Oh! And I'm not sure if you have craft stores, but they usually have great deals on ornaments! Out here in the midwest we have Michael's and Hobby Lobby. Most of our generic ornaments have come from there!

We got a new one for LO from my mom but we just use what we have from past years. We collect as we go!

@Mrs. Bee: Oh yeah, and a really nice tradition that my parents did for me (and still do) is that every year of my life they bought me an ornament, it was MINE. It went on the family tree but I had a little box for just my ornaments and when I moved away and had my own tree I had special ornaments to put on my tree. I loved that tradition and will continue it with my LO

@Mrs. Bee: have you thought about ebay? I bid on/won a HUGE lot of vintage Christmas ornaments a few years ago and love them! All of them are glass, so not what you're looking for, but you could maybe buy a lot of non-glass ornaments.

I bought a bunch from Crate and Barrel last year. This year I just bought a topper from Pottery Barn. I think I have a good amount of ornaments so I'm going to wait for the after Xmas sales to get more this year.

Every year my mom would buy each of us kids an ornament or 2 from hallmark the morning after christmas when they were on sale and keep them in a box. When we moved away we had a full box of hallmark ornaments from over the years. I love them and pretty much stick to mostly hallmark with a few random ones thrown in. I am not the biggest fan of this year's baby's first christmas ones available from hallmark though.

My parents give us one every year for our anniversary, since it is the beginning of November. This is the one we got this year. I love it!!!
