That's sweet :). I'm an only child, but I really hope LO has a really close relationship with her future siblings.

Yes! I'm very close to her. I haven't seen her in months. I miss her!

I have three and we are all very close.

I have a similar relationship with my sister who is 4 years younger. We didn't always get along growing up, but we've been very close the last 15-20 years. I had the same thoughts too about wanting a son but also wanting J to have a sister.

I am extremely close with my three sisters! They are 5, 7 and 10 years older than me. They are the absolute best people I know (other than my husband, LO's and parents). I can't laugh with anyone else like I laugh with them. We randomly have girls weekends where everyone flies/drives to one city, so.much.fun.

My sister is 11 years older then me, and she is my BFF!!! I love her sooo much and don't know what I would do without her!!!

@sera_87: I also have a younger sister that is a notorious flake. We're talking, "I really want to help you paint the nursery, so I'll be by on Monday with my overalls!" and proceed to no-show, and not call me for another week.

She also struggles with some mental health issues, and has a very addictive/destructive personality. I love her to death, and I want to be close, but it's hard to have a normal relationship with her.

@sera_87: Man, we have the same issues with holidays. She would prefer to spend them with friends or boyfriend - all of whom are deadbeats.

Like you, I'm hesitant to leave her alone with DD once she arrives. Heaven forbid she needs to do anything according to schedule.

I actually don't have any other close friends...like BEST girlfriends. My best friend is my sister. Super close & supportive.
I want my kids to be close too...I have seen very close (non-creepy) brother sister relationships too!

My Sister is 3yrs younger than me and we were inseparable and so similar growing up until she graduated uni and left home at 21. I feel like she has changed a lot since then and sometimes I don't feel I know her much at all. Occasionally when it's just me and her I remember how it used to be, but that's rare. Don't get me wrong, I still love her to bits though... she was so helpful last year when I got married and I still like spending time with her

@PrincessBaby: I know what you mean about wanting 2 of the same, but also wanting a boy and a girl! Same sex siblings always seem much closer than one of each... at least with friends I know.

@SAHM0811: ahh how old are your girls? My Mum and her Sister are 6yrs apart and they still go on holidays together now... I would love to continue the family tradition and have 2 girls... but then we'd have to have at least 3, so DH gets his boy

I just have to say, I don't have a sister but I have two brothers, and I really want LO to have a sister. If next one is a boy, I'm probably going to have three then! LOL!

I wish my sister and I were closer. We are only 15 months apart and so different. She is pretty negative and we are totally in different life places. She is hard to be around when she is in a "mood" but fine otherwise. We get along well over text/email/twitter but face to face she starts getting an attitude after a while (unless its just the two of us hanging out, then she is fine).

Very nice of you to send her the perfume! Its nice to be able to do that, my sister is a student and really wanted a new book that came out so I pre-ordered it and had it delivered.. she was so pumped and shocked! Hopefully we get closer as we get older and our life situations get more similar!

I am slowly getting closer with one of my sisters (I have 2, they are 6 years younger than me). For a long time we had a strained relationship because my mom would bad mouth me to them and for a while forbade them from talking to me. Luckily, they decided to attend the college I work at, which means we have been able to start over and get to know each other again. One of my sisters and I are really getting along well, which I am so grateful for. The other one is turning into my mom, so we aren't as close. Regardless, I'm glad they are going to be in the same city as me when I give birth!!

I have a sister who is 3 years older than I am. She is my very best friend. I really am so thankful that I have her in my life. She lives 2 minutes away from me and we hang out at least a few times a week.

My parents have tons of pictures of her sleeping in my crib, she would sneak out of her room and climb in and sleep with me. We did everything together until I hit middle school and she was in high school. We didn't get along for a couple years. Once I hit high school we were inseparable. You didn't invite one of us without expecting the other to come along.

I hate seeing people that aren't close with my siblings, because I seriously LOVE mine. She was so fantastic to have growing up and I learned a lot from her. Now that we are both adults we can really cherish the friendship that we have!

@PrincessBaby: I could have written this post myself. My sister and I are incredibly close. We live about 4 hours apart, but we talk daily and I love her so much. I keep hoping that our next will be a girl so they can grow up sisters like my sis and I.

awww your story made me well up. i love that instead of getting upset with her for not responding to harpers photo your first instinct was to buy her a present and help her feel better. you are a wonderful big sister. my sister is a year younger than me. we are SO close. we did fight a ton because we are Irish twins so we were sometimes so close in age we wanted the same things or would act jealous and petty. I love her though and i love that sister relationship so. i have a son and my hubs is only on board for one more so it looks like i wont be able to raise sisters unless i have twin girls haha but i feel so lucky to have had that. i hope harper gets her little sister. then give them both a baby brother to babysit and spoil! i always wanted that! xo

Aww, that's so sweet of you! My sister is 11 years younger than me, but we are pretty close! I am excited that she's graduating from college next month and moving back home. She'll be only 30 mins away instead of 2 hours away!
