Now that Thanksgiving has passed, we'll probably get a tree today with the kids! Nothing fancy... just something from the local tree stand. We let the kids pick out the tree, which is a big dangerous but usually works out!

We went yesterday to a local Christmas tree farm. It was awesome! There was an alpaca petting zoo, hayrides, free cider and popcorn, and a huge play ground. People are allowed to bring leashed pets and DD loved seeing dogs everywhere.

Just bought a fake one online, but rethinking my purchase. 12 ft ceilings...bought a 7.5 ft tree. 9 ft would be better?

We usually get on the Saturday after thanksgiving, but unfortunately some family events came up. So not sure when we will!

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: you could always put something underneath; some kind of riser covered by a tree skirt. My grandmother was an interior decorator and her trees were always on top of a round table.
I'm trying to figure out what to do about a tree. We have a cheap artificial one that I hate. Would love to cut one down with LO, but we're all feeling kind of crappy. Next weekend is busy though, so I am debating getting a cut tree (which would still be a lot of work since Id have to figure out how to get it into my SUV with the carseat...unless I went during her nap. We also need a tree stand. Or we could do a small table top tree from Wegmans... Decisions, decisions!

We got ours yesterday! Went to a cute little tree farm. It's our first year with a real tree so we are excited (and nervous)!

Mine's been up for a week, and we were actually later than usual putting it up! (We were waiting for our foster kitty to leave because he weighed about 20 pounds and would have definitely tried to climb it.)

We were going to go yesterday but thought maybe it was too early. Would the tree dry out? Maybe we'll do it later today.

Next week for us. I wanted to put our decs up this weekend but DH put his foot down about it being too early.

I don't think we're doing a tree this year, real or fake. We have a rambunctious 25 pound puppy who loves to chase and attack shadows, lights, and shiny things, so a tree seems like an invitation for disaster. 
I might get a small, pre-lit table top tree just to have something...

@78h2o: we're still debating on the height because it makes such a difference with the width. My husband is back to a 7.5 ft with the table like you suggested. I found a DIY drum base like the little Drummer Boy to give it almost a potted tree look. When your grandma put a table underneath the tree, do you recall how the metal stand was hidden?
