I hear this a lot from new parents, and was wondering how universal a feeling it is...
Does work feel like less of a priority since you had a kid? Are you less into your career/work?

I love my job, but that's all it is, my job. Now that I have children, it's even more true.

It's not that I am into it less ...it's just that it has to take a back seat if my LO needs me. It's not a choice, it's fact. Like if my LO is sick at day care, I have no choice but to ditch work asap.

Actually yes and no. I look forwarded to working. so yay for mondays.... but I don't do overtime or over work myself.

I definitely wonder how I will feel after I have a kid!
I have my own business, so it has been my "baby" for the last 4 years. I don't know what will happen if I don't have the same amount of energy or dedication. Scary!!

Im much more productive at work, but I also feel that its just a job. Just a means to providing for my family. Once 5pm rolls around, I mentally (and physically) check out of work.

I'm still very into my work... which is good because you have to be on your game with what I do. But the other night, on call, I was really hurting and wanting to take some time off with the little one. I think I'll be able to do that more in May.
