I am looking forward to planning my LO 2's second bday in April. I haven't decided on much but I know I want a chocolate cake from Costco.
Are you planning any parties right now? Any theme or colors?

E's second bday is in april, too, but i haven't done any formal planning yet. Just pinning some fun recipes and cute stuff when I randomly come across it.
Since i'll be about 37 weeks pregnant, I'm going to do a cookies and milk theme at a playground. Make some cookie batches, make a cookies and cream cake or buy a cookie cake, buy those little milks from Sam's Club...i'm going to keep it easy but make sure everything is delicious

@blackbird: that sounds really cute!
DD1's third birthday is at the end of April too.
I'm starting to think of ideas. But whether or not we have a party depends on if I have a job or not. Either way we'll definitely do something. I'm thinking either a school bus or farm theme! She loves both!

Started thinking about C's 3rd birthday, which is the first week of April. Still deciding on a theme. DH wants to do Minnie Mouse because Mickey Mouse Clubhouse is her favorite thing right now. I, personally, don't want to. Dont really know why Im so adverse to it, I just am. Im thinking doing an April Showers/rainbow thing.
I already have tons of inspiration saved for the rainbow thing because it was our original theme for her 1st. Plus, I think it would be cheap to do.

I've started pinning things for my twins' first birthday.
I'm trying to stick with something simple so I don't go crazy and get overwhelmed. Trying to decide between a You Are My Sunshine or April Showers Bring May Flowers theme.

Kind of planning DD1's 2nd bday for this Saturday. I'm a week post partum so it's going to be an order pizza, pick up some balloons, and call it a day party. Thankfully she's two and has low expectations.

@blackbird: We went to a 1st bday party with theme for his nephew. It was really cute.
I am starting to plan her 2nd bday. I might do Minnie since she is obsessed. But since we are just having family again, still 40 people, I might just make a couple banners and call it a day.

I'm planning lo's 2nd birthday! I will have a newborn and it's a mostly adults party with friends and family, so it dosent require much planning....but since it's the last party for a while that he won't have to share with his sister we are doing a construction/trucks theme.

It's totally rational that I can make this cake at 3 weeks pp, right??
If not, anybody know what it costs to have something like that made at a grocery store? Or sams maybe?

@Mrs. Lion: it looks totally doable. Just buy a choco cake and sprinkle crumbs on top!

@autumnlove: ooh that would totally work and be much easier!!

@Mrs. Lion: yeah i was gonna say, that looks SO EASY. Just crunch up oreos

I'm planning LO's first birthday party at the end of April. It will be just family and nothing too crazy, but I want to make a cake and cupcakes and do a light lunch. The theme is Twinkle Twinkle Little Star because he loves that song. I have lots of pinned ideas so far and bought some star shaped candles!

@Mrs. Lion: I love that cake! Yes, like PPs mentioned see if you can get a cake frosted in choc then add the cookie crumbs and trucks yourself. It will most likely work out cheaper that way.

DDs first birthday in March I was just pinning stuff for it last night! I definitely want to go simple since she's one and won't remember it, but still something fun!

Just my husband's 40th in June. We might have a housewarming party before then but I doubt it.

No parties. My birthday is in February which we really don't do much for.

@Mrs. Lion: Love the cake and should be easy enough! My husband is an engineer for Cat so I really want to do a construction themed party for my LOs when they are a little older!

Yes! Now that the holidays are over, I have kicked into high gear to plan my DD's first birthday! We put a deposit down on a room at our nearby rec center last friday. And I'm hoping to DIY some garlands and other decor this week. We are doing a sweetheart theme since we are having the party a week before V-day. I'm super excited. I'll probably start a thread for decorating ideas since the room we are having it in is a giant dance room that I need to fill up!

@twodoghouse: there are some really fun ideas on pinterest! I may do it again when he is 4 and has a birthday party with mostly kids
I doubt our adult friends will enjoy all the super fun building and truck activities!

Yes and I am overwhelmed! I have DDs irst bday in February, then two bridal showers and two bechelorette parties! I am not a party planning type of person. I do not really enjoy it. But want to make them all awesome anyways!

Yes! Sadie's 2nd birthday party is at the end of the month. It's Toy Story themed (her favorite), and I'm so excited.

@Mrs. Lion: love that cake! I agree with the others, buy a chocolate cake and crunch up some Oreos. Easy!

@blackbird: haha I think you just gave me a new bedrest project...turn all the 4 year old games into adult games
we may have to add money to the budget for beer though. I think I saw a backyard giant Jenga game somewhere....

@Mrs. Lion: a friend mine did that at chrisymas!!! And it looked epic!

@Mrs. Lion: That cake is awesome! I'm totally gonna use that for my DS's 3rd bday in August.
I SHOULD be planning DS's first birthday party in late March but haven't thought of a thing yet

@Mrs. Lion: @blackbird: We used to (pre-kids) do a huge Price is Right party every year with drinking game versions of all the games. Half our garage is still taken up with a ten feet tall Drinko board!

DD2's first birthday is at the beginning of Feb and I haven't done any planning other than knowing I want to do a rainbow hearts theme - rainbows because I love rainbow themed parties, and hearts because it's just before Valentine's Day! There's a rainbow heart garland that I love on Pinterest so I may replicate that. Other than that, I haven't done any planning yet!
