My DH is wary of EVERYONE while I tend to keep in mind that someone could be up to no good but generally don't jump to that conclusion right away.

We live in an area where it is very strange for a steanger to come up to our door but I still try to give them the benefit of the doubt. This morning I had strange woman knock on my door (I thought it was MIL so I didn't even check the peephole before opening the door) asking to use my phone because "her boyfriend dropped her off and she doesn't know where she is". I immediately thought that was BS but let her stand on out porch and use my phone. Then she left. Her BF never showed up at my house so I don't know who she called for 28 seconds. We left and came back about 2 hours later and I saw her walking around alone several miles from our house so I think she was casing houses to rob. DH is upset that my first reaction wasn't to shoot her (not joking) and we got into an argument about how I should never answer the door when I'm alone and to call the cops right away if I don't know who it is (he was not joking).

I think i should have checked the peephole so I could have been more prepared and though I doubt she actually needed my help, I didn't let her in the house so I don't see the big deal. He thinks I'm crazy and I think he's way too suspicious. He's been standing guard at the door all night lol

Are you more suspicious or trusting?
