My dad lived to 83, and his parents (my grandparents) lived into their 70s. My dad had some dementia though, so he lost cognitive function in his last few years.

My mom is still going at 72, and her mom is in her 90s! But her mom has severe dementia, and believes it is the 1940s. My mom's dad passed a long time ago of tuberculosis, which would be curable today.

So all in all, 3 out of my 4 grandparents lived to a pretty old age - so I should too, as long as my health is decent! I do have some risk factors for dementia though, so I'm hoping they cure that one in the next 40 years or so!
