I'm surprised that ~70% of our parents are still together. I was under the impression that the divorce rate was around 50%. Or maybe that only applies to younger couples?

I voted married but my mom never married my biological father. She married her current husband (the man I call dad) when I was about 2 & they celebrated 20 years this past June! I'm really thankful for their marriage. They were young & poor & stressed & I got to witness them grow together & get through the worst of it together so when DH & I hit rough spots, I know we will be okay because I've seen it work. They are madly in love. DH'S parents celebrated 36 years this year I tjink. I think they're happy. They are content at least. This is his mom's second marriage.

Married for 30 years this coming February! I am astonished by it because my mom found out she was pregnant with my brother after they had only been dating for a couple months. Then they got married and he was born all within a year of them meeting. They are still very much in love. I am so lucky.

My Dad has passed away but my parents split up when I was in my teens. They had a very unhealthy marriage and it would have been much better for everyone if they'd divorced earlier!
DH's parents have been together since his mum was 16 and his dad was 21... 35+ years now!!!

My parents have been married 36 years, and my in-laws have been married 30. My parents still hold hands and chase each other around the house -- hope to have that kind of marriage after 36 years!

Nope. Mom and bio dad divorced when I was 2. Mom and stepdad separated right after DH and I got engaged. ILs divorced before we got engaged. No contact w/ bio dad. 3 of the 4 are in happy relationships now. Makes the holidays a headache, though!

My parents separated & then ultimately divorced after 32yrs (I think it was) maybe 14 yrs ago (already!?!). However, they have never remarried and are still friendly. We still have holidays & family gatherings together & I feel like the luckiest daughter of divorced parents for that!! My parents-IL have been married for 40-something yrs.
